I'm in with driver Eric Pucelik (longtime bud from Santa Cruz) - Same Predator buggy as last year.

....and, the BIGGEST news....Santa Claus signed my Mom and Dad up for Sonora Rally - Safari Class.

She competed in the Rebelle Rally a few months ago and totally dug it. So, its time for Dad join the fun at Sonora.

Mom will be celebrating her 78th B-Day on the Rally - Should be a memorable one.

Clearly all the dunes riding Ricky had last year at Sonora prepared him well for Dakar. He's moved himself from 11th overall yesterday to 5th overall today!

He doesn't need practice driving. He needs practice listening to his navigator.

I had serious doubts about the capabilities of the Predator and was quite surprised seeing it cross the finish line for the first few days. By the time the rally was over I was quite impressed with it actually! It should be a fun ride!

The Predator CRUSHED the dunes! Kinda short on top speed, but chassis/suspension was great for the Sonora. (Full disclosure: I've only ridden in the Predator and a side by side)

Navigating a car vs. my bike was a big change. It took awhile to figure out communication with driver Eric (his first Rally). Biggest lesson was giving clear instruction when to SLOW DOWN and how much (when I was losing the way). Had I been navigating solo on the bike, I would have slowed myself as confidence dropped.

Eric got better at holding CAP headings in the dunes with less coaching from me. We were pretty stoked to pull straight into the WP after a 20+km HP section.

    So much fun.
