Sounds like fun, good thing you took the short loop.
Ron, I wish I could have joined you as yesterday was an awesome day for a ride, but alas my brother had agreed that yesterday was the day that would be best for him to help me rebuild my motorcycle ramp.
Glad to hear you might be joining in today. Been awhile since we rode together.
Curtis I first injured my shoulder on a Green River ride the weekend before I saw you at San Ysidro. The magura clutch I put on my YZ250 was leaking at the lever plunger so it wasn't disengaging all the way when pulled in with one finger. Running across the desert I came across a rain rut and hit the brakes to check my speed then planned to blip the throttle to wheelie over the rut. Right when I hit my brakes the bike stalled so instead of wheeling the rut with the power on I lawn darted my front wheel right into the near vertical wall of the rut. All the force went right into my shoulder, a day later I had no pain.
The next weekend I rode trials with you guys and did a few drops that were higher and less smooth than I would have like and after riding my shoulder was killing me (not while riding though). Now my shoulder is really painful and difficult to lift things after 2 weeks of rest. I've never had a shoulder injury before but I think I have a problem here
Good luck at the comp today, if you podium please tell everyone you are dedicating your podium to Ron and his shouler recovery, thanks.
Interesting, that is exactly what I was thinking as it was getting dark in the Jemez, the temp said 32, and I couldn't feel my thumb
I'll meet up with you guys at 10am. F trials I want to ride a bike with a large seat today!
See you all in a few.
I plan to complete todays ride in the daylight, I'm sceeeerd of the dark.:eek1
Made it back alive! Long but fun.
It's all good Ron! I knew your shoulder was hurting you. Didn't realize it was still sore though. I hope it's nothing serious...maybe some more adventure riding will take care of it!
I think you would have actually liked the Semi sections today...fun with great flow. There was one big drop though that was a jarring down that certainly would not have been good on your shoulder. Hopefully you'll be back in the game in a few weeks...until then, enjoy the 990! Hope someone got some pics of the ride today...
I guess I screwed up with my camera, only got two pictures, one of my face setting up the camera and one of the highway so no luck here .
Good ride, but very dusty. It is super dry right now.
A great ride over incredible country.
I learned many new things about adventure riding to include that this is really not the best track for a Triumph 800 XC.
I see a KTM 690 in the future.
I have a few pictures and some GoPro video to process. I may need to help getting it posted though.
Thanks for hanging out after the tire/tube finally gave up the ghost gents!
Hope everyone made it home to loved ones safe.
I had that problem once. it turned out to be a neck thing, go to a chiropractor.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
I dont have the name of the guy that straightened me out but if you send me a PM and I will get it to you<o></o>
Ron, if you decide to see a chiropractor, you met a good one in Crested Butte year before last! Local guy and a rider too!
We all met at the Morning Star Grocery at 10:00 and headed south to Manzano then up FR422.
I can remember bikes but not too good with people:
Intersection of FR422 and FR522
South end of FR522
South on FR522 near hiway60
Turned west at hiway 60 for about 3 miles and onto the WSMR roads.
Saw some hoses in the coral, looked wild and not used to people.
Headed west towards Socorro and into Lemitar for gas.
It was about 4:00 by the time we got to Lemitar so we slabbed home on I25 but not before the Tiger tire decided it had enough for the day. A rescue effort was arranged from home base and we finished up the ride way after dark. I' still scared of the dark!:eek1
Nice pictures, Gordon! Wish I had been able to ride along, next time----
Same here Magoo...
snow is headed our way this weekend hope you guys got your riding in.
Hope you can get your vids uploaded. I'd like to see more of the ride.
The meet up as well as the sickest bike ever..... Hint: It's white and it's not the Johnny on the spot.
Empedrado or Jim as I like to call him.
Stack Roach on his Triump 800XC w/full luggage. He was headed down to Baja immediately after our ride for the winter....
1150GS guy (I suck with names) and Ditch on the Husky
I took 2 other pics but they are no where to be found on my phone, operator error I'm sure.
This ride was great and exactly the type of ride I want to be on. Thanks elgato gordo for leading it was good meeting you. I am interested in any rides you plan in the future so please keep me in mind.
I will PM you the part # for the fender I was talking about. Thanks again! Ron
I've been putting off doing anything about it but I've got the same pain with little to no improvement for 3 weeks now so I need to look into it. Thanks for the advice.
I know him I was also at his house last winter for Kevin's picture presention. He has 3 or 4 Weestroms right?
