Aight, here's the pick-up: It took me a long time to figure this one out on google earth, and I had some help from a local. I thought the "falls of Gissendaner" was a clue, but now I see why LDHunter put that in there. Anyway, after some searching I found it. Pretty neat place, and fun dirt road to ride.

I have three ideas in mind, but only time to do two for the tag. I'll probly do it tomorrow morning or evening and then post in 24 hours. -probly gonna piss LDHunter off by the sounds of it. In the mean time, we can enjoy his sissy banter about how good the FL riders are. :rofl Now, how do add a dang pic? My attachment box says I've uploaded the max of 1 image, but the image is not there.

You can use a photo sharing website like smugmug, or photobucket or any that hold your photos for you that allow you to link to the image for sharing. I use photobucket and can walk you through it if you need help. I am sending you a PM with my cell number so if you need help you can just ring me up, and I will walk you through it.:D

WAY TO GO EVERYDAY! I am waiting on your post.....:lurk

I updated the map to show this tag, if anyone(madhouse) wants to see where it was. That way you can get over and check it out next time your in our area. There is a good bit of elevation changes in this area of Haleburg, Alabama. These two roads are nice to ride, as Everyday mentioned, and if your a good scout you may discover the waterfall on the other road. Don't linger there for days on end. It was ok to go there for years, then disrespectful people began dumping and partying and leaving trash behind giving the area a bad reputation. I believe the family donated it to Landmark park in Dothan(not quite sure, but have heard that from people who knew about this fall) and they put up a cable to keep people from driving into the falls area. It is about a 40' high fall that winds it way along to Abbie creek. There is a sediment layer in the wall containing shells and shark's teeth. You can park your bike out by the road in the drive's edge and walk down to the falls for a photograph. You can climb down into the area of the falls if your athletic, but make sure there is a partner there to help incase of a fall.

Way to go EveryDay!!! Congratulations!!! :clap :freaky :clap

Tell me this... Did you find it with google earth or did you know the area or what?

Be careful if you go anywhere near the falls. There's a really ugly creature hanging out there and it might even be a yeti!

I won't be pi$$ed off if you don't put the tag where I want it. I'll just come steal it and bring it to Florida where it belongs... :deal :lol3 :deal

Jody... My Wee is as fast as this old man is willing to ride so that'll just have to be fast enough... :D :rofl :D :rofl :D

With the limited about of rain fall over the last few years, the falls have narrowed considerably. In the photo you can see the effects of the erosion on the wall from the floor up to about 15' carving out the back edge of the ledge. I remeber when the wife and I took her daughter there about 10 years ago. We climbed down the water fall then must have been 15-20 wide band of water coming over the fall, and the cool mist and wind driven from the fall was refreshing on a hot summer day. We walked almost to Abbie creek before the sun started going low. It was a fun day kinda sub-tropical in there in the summertime. Ferns and tropical plants grow from the walls and being down in a valley of sorts for the entire walk made you feel like your some place else. :clap

    Thanks for the photos Bob!

Not exactly the Best Western, but it would be close for any rider. Fishing may provide a meal and your guarenteed a quiet stay.

    I'd make the traveling here a 2 on Jody's scale, maybe a 3 or 4 if you driving a Wee.:D

On the way I encountered this dead end: (NOTE: this is not the tag, the pic above is)

Once back on the road I realized this highway has provided access to all three tags.

No I don't think so. Lets not get in the habit of giving it away too soon like on other threads. Give me a chance to work on it a bit in the day light!

BOB, Go back out and fire that thing up, and hit the road, it's your only chance right now to beat me to the tag before daylight.

No worries, I think any little hint would blow this wide open. It was a last minute decision today, I had a couple easy ones ready, but decided to go to a more obscure place.

I was overtired from my trip and went to bed right after my last message last night. I have to work today so Jody will have a chance before the "BIG DOG" hit's the road... :evil :rofl :evil

However!!! Tomorrow might just be a different story. :deal

I think I have spotted several roads that might be it but am still not sure. Wish I had the time to go look today... :huh

I agree with Jody. Don't give any more clues yet. Jody and I are big posters but there are likely others that prefer to remain quiet and just go grab it and you should wait another couple days before giving more clues. Don't assume nobody will get it just by responses on the thread.

I haven't had this much fun in awhile.

I'll try to use my KLR to go grab this one too since it was tagged with a KLR... :clap

Lets see..... I got up way before dawn, rolled out at 5:30AM to near 0-Visability for at least 60 of the 90 miles I covered before work today, and NADA! I Covered 95 from Abbeville ( a site up there I thought might be it) to Abbie Creek Park, Omussee Creek Park, West bank Dam Site(Saw 11 deer on the entrance road). Sun was getting pretty high in the sky, so I figured I better head back to Dothan. It was a miserable ride in the pea soup fog soaking wet at 49 degrees, but none the less adventurous. I have a few other ideas that I have to check out on google maps, but wasn't enough time to cover all the ideas I had and still make roll call. I will head out again after work.:evil
