John, I'll miss your cheery updates! Get healed, and we'll be ready when you are! All the best!
Standing O JD.
Went out with a bang (or crunch)!
All eyes peeled for the next instalment of minimalist ADV by the guru himself.
Cheers! We'll put apple juice in yours.
Sorry to see the end of this RR. Entertaining, educational, and inspirational, as always.
You would be free of rules, being able to make it continuous, and include photos, subjects and criticisms that are not allowed on this forum. Would be good to make it interactive, so you can answer questions and receive other feedback.
This forum's biggest strength is the variety and number of participants. That is a weakness of a personal blog - nobody knows it's there. You would be one of the few people who could pull it off.
You are famous. The folks reading this are enough to get you going there.
Get well soon JD, enjoy the downtime and please let us know when you begin the next chapter somewhere else.
You have a pretty good handle on South America, maybe Russia would be fun.

It has been good, thanks for your friendship, consel and this ride report. Gotta say, adventuring around with good companion in a car ....wandering thru South America... It could be a lot worse.
As for me , i will be drag racing tomorrow and tuesday the hardware (10 screws and a plate) are coming outta the wrist. Still building funds and ploting routes.....
Thanks again. Ratbikemike
Well done Mr Downs. Well done. I am sure you know that many more follow and enjoy your reports than those that write in often.
Never say die.
Half price invalid discount to Machu Picchu? Who can pass that up?
They didn't mention on the ticket how many frickin' stairs there were.
Ha Ha, anything for a discount! Looking good, John.
Going to have to change the name to Macho Picchu!
Wow! Looks like a new hoodie and athletic shoe(s?). Also looks like a good time is being had.
That is a great picture John.
Yes. All credit goes to the staff photographer who not only makes me look good in pictures, but also has excellent taste in hi-tech practical ADVcrutching clothing.
Fantastic photo. Looks like you got there on a nice day. It strikes me that smile of yours is perpetual in the company of the staff photographer ! Happy for you both!
Just caught up on your report. Top notch as usual. I think your new nickname should be Uncle Timex...takes a licking and keeps on ticking!!! Your my idol. Can't wait to see the next installment. Thanks for all your effort and have a speedy recovery.
