Still around, or gone?
Still here in the land of ice and snow waiting to head south I have pulled the trigger on my tickets and will be flying down to Buenos Aires the day after x-mas Dec. 26th then have a lose plan to follow part of the Dakar Rally with some guys from advrider and be back in BA on the 6th of Jan. when John M. fly's in from Colorado. We will then ride west to Chile and possibly catch some more of the race in western Argentina. Numa will joining us for the ride. <o></o>
Dale I need to talk with you or anybody about what GPS to use and what maps to get????
Well here I am back at it again got down here to BA from Chicago on the 27th of dec. And me and Numa loaded up the bikes and headed south to miramar the next day, nice to be in summer time.
Always something gas shortage do to a strike a while back we got some plastic jugs filled but it all worked out.
Little ride on the beach and dunes south of town thanks to Gustovo but first a little air out of the tires.
Next stop Dakar . Stay tuned
This is painfully slow to do on an iPad they suck for this.
Did you hook up with any of the bikers from BsAs also going to the Dakar?
Is this Gustovo one of the local bikers who is also going? Bet you wish you
had the Beemer there!
The weather looks nice. It's about 30F here today with snow flurries....arg!
Other than doing the trip report how suitable is the iPad for traveling?
Take care my friend. I am SOOOOOO jealous!
p.s.--make sure to put your camera on your daily checklist!
Glad to see you got down safely, Mike. Looking forward to some race pictures, have a great trip, if you need something at the house hit me up, see you when you get back!
January 1st we ride downtown *to the Rural in downtown BA where they line up the bikes, cars and trucks to parade out of town.
Here are some riders getting ready to go. *Thirty people watching who cares. *(They must be from Italy)
Chris V. Studying his plans. well looked like Chris.
We could not get close to the bikes or race vehicles but the support stuff was very accessible.

Some day my friend... some day.
Saw Jenny JOMo (and piglet) from adv at the start. Yelled out show us your piggy and she whipped out and waved it around.
iPad love hate it not ready for prime time give me a cheapy net book for travel iPad for reading the paper and very basic stuff.
Dan thanks for the music sounds great.
Did not hook up with the adv guys everything is a scramble to get around
Will post day two and three when I get a chance
Some more shots of day two we were at Santa Rosa de calamuchita saw the bikes pass couple cars then rain had a long night ride to dean funes so we split got cought up that evening with the trucks on the road what a circus.
Here we are day three at Dean Funes had a good spot by a small curve as they slow down for a check point and street crossing. *The big trucks are incredible to watch. everybody is very friendly and well behaved not very rowdy. *But dusty as all hell after a vehicle would go by you would just cringe and hold your breath.
Now the big guys. You can feel them go by and fast. Then two minutes of dust dust dust really dries out the throat.
China was their
Kasakastan was their
Lot of dust but what a ball, saw JOMo Jenny go by but was not quick on the camera. Anyway my throat was getting dry.
Hole lot of BMW gs adv bikes but all arg plates.
All that dust I have the answer they call it Quilmes.
