shouldve went riding mambo dave, little over two hours behind the race track zig zagging around the roads and trails out there. not too much mud, but did avoid the water holes.

jpr..let me know when you ride south, you go right by my house. be careful parking at the marriot in that spot, its reserved for the fwc officer, and he get cranky when his spot is occupied...lol

one of these days I gotta get over and see the bike and run the trails out there. I usually am by myself on a heavier bike so I don't get into too much out there..............

I'll let you know for sure. I need to start meeting people from this forum.
I'll keep that in mind next time. I stopped there for like 5 minutes to stretch my legs, a poser shot, and have some water.

weather was great yesterday. LOTS of bikes on the road.

I do have to take the bike URGENTLY to the dealer. PO did not have the recalls taken care off and the bike shutdown on me like 5 or 6 times. Apparently the dealer has to re-flash the computer. either way it's due for the 600 mile service so I am taking it in this weekend.

    LOL.

I'm not sure I will head south. I mean, I'm more than willing to do it if there are ares to ride, but the DR650 lets me ride so many areas that the bigger ADV bikes usually avoid that I am having a good time up this way. I rode the DR up to the Palm Beach / Florida fairgrounds yesterday for a driving session (got to test out 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid, Hyundai Hybrid, Ford Fusion hybrid, and the Camry hybrid on two small test tracks, then take them out on the roads for about a 10 mile drive), but that ended at about noon. Afterward I took the DR up into JW Corbett for the second time, ever. The first time was a near disaster, and I learned the hard way about the challenges JW Corbett holds for anything other than 14 foot tall swamp buggies :D

Yesterday went better. Sure, I got lost, and worked the bike hard, and ended up in areas that I probably shouldn't have been... but it was worth it despite the occasional rain.

now... are there off-road areas that I should be aiming for south of here?

the squares off card sound road and behind the racetrack are fun..and you can ride all morning then go to Alabama jacks for lunch....but for the most part it gets better up by yo mambo...however there is more sand the further you go north.
and don't we all love sugar sand.

Yeah thats why I went for the smaller bike, got the 990 stuck a few times and its tough to get her out of the mud by yourself. I dont mind the small 250, its all about the fun, and 50mph is 50mph on either bike. Besides its way easier to turn around if if gets too bad anywhere! Come on lets go ride. With all this wind I'm tied to the dock with the boat and have time.

Anyone off/free any time between the 25th and the 27th. I had a few vacation days left at work and decided to take that whole week off.

I know that Thursday and Friday is family time but I would be down to plan a day trip any day between Monday and Wednesday. Weather dependent, I might take the ride to key west. Its been more that 10 years since the last time I was down there.

A poser shot of the bike at mile 0 would be nice too.

If anything comes up please let me know. I am not available to do any gravel or dirt roads though. I have not gotten any protection or tires yet.

I was just through JW Corbett on Monday. Had a great time, and found some probably not so legal areas to be in ... but the GoPro battery died on the way there for some reason.

Took some off-road trails, but found that, by and large, there really isn't much out there for bikes when off of the dirt roads. This was my second time out there.

I was up there at the fairgrounds that morning to test drive new 2014 midsized sedan hybrids (Hyundai - which was garbage compared to the others, Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion, and the Honda Accord) on closed tracks and open roads. That was over by about 1 PM, so I Hit Corbett and had a great time.

Popped out on some road that I don't think I was allowed to be on:

Clip of a crash I had these weekend at the hare scramble in bartow. First time doing something like this and it was a lot of fun! Something I'd recommend to anyone into trail/dirt riding.

Anyone know of any store in south florida that carries a good assortment of luggage systems. I've seen so many (online) that I am extremely confused on what to get.

Since the price of a whole system is too much right now, I was thinking of just getting the top box for now and work my way from there. I am not sure about rounded boxes since I believe the tiger XC looks amazing with square type and that is the main reason I'd like to go to a store and check different styles.

Please let me know and thanks in advance

i cant think of any with a good assortment of top cases...however revzilla, motorcycle superstore, as well as amazon.com have very good return policies...you can buy,try and return.
please double check the return policy on luggage though...just to be sure.
