Probably noonish, gonna let it warm up some first.

I should be at bethel trail head around noon.
I'll be down for some fire roads, will be on big pig KLR so not too good for single track.

I'll try to make it. I'll be on a white wee.

New member from Picayune here. Recently sold my 2004 BMW RT and purchased a new Wee. Just installed a bash plate, crash bars and barkbusters. I've never done much off-road riding, but I'm anxious to try some over the next couple weeks while I'm off work...if it ever quits raining. I've seen several mentions of the Desoto Forest fire roads. That sounds like a good place to start unless some of you guys know any good roads near Picayune. Any local offroad ride recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Beware the factory tires in sand. I too am a bit of a novice and certainly so on something as heavy as the wee. However, get confident with the trail wings and you'll be that much better when you get some tires that are a little better suited for life off the pavement.

Totally agree on the wings. My DR came with them and they were absolutely awful. Hey I think I may have saw you guys Sunday. I was heading over to ride the ATV trails and saw two bikes on the horizon. It was on Bethel Rd around 12:30 heading west. Tried to catch up but when I got to the intersection of Bethel and Marvin Williams I didn't know which way the bikes went. I turned right and suspect, if it was in fact you guys, y'all went straight. I rode some of the local forest roads and a few miles of trails. I am still in the exploring stage when it comes to the forest roads. Anyone have any good GPS tracks from this area?

It was very likely myself and EnduroRdr. We headed up towards the old POW camp.

Feel free to let me know when you're in the area.

BTW had a good time exploring the Forrest roads with you LongLeaf.

    Same to you.

Good thing we got a ride in yesterday. We're getting hammered by this storm tonight and it's expected to continue the rest of the week.

Funny you mention the tires. I already had to replace the rear tire at 198 miles. Ouch! I picked up 2 roofing tacks on a short diversion down a trail running along side a railroad track. It was a trashy area, and I should have known better. I purchased a Metzler Tourance and that thing is wonderful on pavement compared to the Bridgestone.

Don't get out that way often, and by the time I saw you guys' posts, it was about 10:30 am on Sunday. I headed out expecting that you guys would have already moved on from Bethel. Had a pretty good ride though and also met a few guys on dirt bikes from my area. I'll keep an eye out and post up sometime to try to get together for a ride. Merry Christmas everyone!

Hey guys...I've got a brand new Tiger so I'm sure at some point I'll come down and ride with ya'll. I've got some experience on gravel with my 250 I had, but the new big bike is gonna take some time to get used to. Especially with Battle Wings aka Death Wings on it. I've got to get them worn down so I can get some K60s for it. And of course, this rain has to STOP! Ya'll keep me in mind when you ride.
