Rules are as follows (stolen/adapted from other tag-o-rama’s).

    1.0 GRAB
1.1. Find the place where the picture was taken (Google is your friend), ride to the location and reproduce the photo as exactly as possible at the original location*.
1.2. The first person to post a picture gets to place the next tag.

    2.0 POST
2.1 Ride to a location of your choice, take a photo that includes your motorcycle and post it here.
2.2 You are encouraged, but not required, to include yourself in the picture.
2.3 Interest encouraged; A bit of history or something that takes you down interesting roads.
2.4 Consider that tags that can be tracked down via internet searches allow folks not from the immediate area track down the location.
2.5 Tag must be on public dual-sport accessible roads**
2.6 Picture must be of adequate size and posted directly in the thread, no links.

    3.0 MOVE IT ALONG RULE
3.1 You have 36 hours (from the time of your grab post) to post the new tag
3.2 If you timeout anyone can claim the tag (by taking the necessary picture)
3.3 If nobody grabs the tag the original grabber can, obviously, post the new tag

    4.0 PLAYGROUND
4.1 A triangle encompassing Laredo, Corpus Christi & McAllen (refer to map)***
4.2 Boundaries are not strict, simply keep to their spirit.

    5.0 RESTRICTIONS
5.1 File photos (i.e. photos you find on the web) are NOT permitted.
5.2 The motorcycle in the picture must get to the tag location under its own power.
5.3. No placing of motorcycles in restricted areas i.e. areas the public would frown on (pedestrian walkways) or inmate might be "harassed" (e.g. military bases).
5.4 No whining, rudeness or ridicule (beyond the expected ADV heckling).

    * This means you cannot take a picture of an oil derrick, for example, and announce that the new tag consists of someone taking a picture at any oil derrick they wish.

** if you don’t have a dual sport and don’t want to get dirt on your chrome queen just cool your heels and wait for a tag that you can get to.

*** The playground allows a tag grab within a day; 300 miles round trip mas-o-menos from one point of the triangle to another.

The cannon in the back should be a big hint. I may edit this and provide more hints if folks are stumped but here's one. I know for a fact that there are pictures on the web that show the cannon and give the location.

Just a bit of info. This gun appears to be this one:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3"/50_caliber_gun

Its not an anti-aircraft gun, instead its a surface target gun found on a naval vessel. They were later modified to be anti-aircraft guns by adding a feeding unit making them a rapid fire system. This example however has the single shell loading breech as you can see on the back. Good luck with it.

At first I thought it was on the Marine Military Academy but now I think I know where it is. I've got my moles looking into it, since it was not one I could easily track with only internet searches. I'm out of commission due to my outpatient surgery but after the 13th, if my moles confirm location, I may just go grab this. :evil

You might get it with that help....

Just a hint that information that i gave about it might just throw you off even more. I would just disregard it altogether.

I thought of TSTC Harlingen as a likely spot, especially with that building in the background but I'm not that familiar with the grounds. I may poke around on Google maps again although I'm still out of commission because of the outpatient surgery on my hands. Stitches (hopefully) come off on Monday. Hoo Hoo!

It is visible by google earth, but barely. If you dont know what to look for you probably wont see it.

A clue i gave WB was that I used to go to this location every year, I would still go, but dont have the time. This also used to be a very important place for the valley. While it is still in use, its not as big as it used to be.

:evil Now, if I only did not have these bandages on my hands and could ride out there. There is another clue in the sign above the door entrance. :D Sorry, for ever doubting the quality of the tag you posted P815. Heck, this seems like such an interesting place that I WILL ride out there even if someone else grabs the tag.

Went out to Brownsville this morning: Commemorative Air Force Rio Grande Valley Wing. The museum is closed between May 1, 2011 thru October 12, 2011.

From their website: "Visit our museum and take an exciting and educating tour throughour Nation's WW-II history. Watch the events unfold, from the
preludes to war in Asia and Europe to the fall of the Third Reich
and the defeat of the Japanese Empire."

Fantastic Mar7! There are only a few hundred of those artillery guns scattered around The RGV so the that tag should be pretty easy find. Hey, are those handlebars and an engine I see on that couch? Sweet! :lol3
