Still hunting down a good battery for this damn thing. Till then it is dead in the water and Im using the CBR1000RR. Looking into the pc310 Oddessy and the Yusa. Appareantly I was told there is a battery fro the 640 with like 160 cca and there is 1 for the 990 thats 5mm taller and is 260cca so Im curious if I can fit that 990's into the 640... would be nice to have extra cca but I have to make sure the battery can halde the vibes from the 640. it throws out alot of vibes.

Thanks, I'm kind of new to the area. Do you mean near Port Stanley? Or could you suggest some specific roads?

    Cheers!

I went to Vollmer Racing in Lasalle today. Was very impressed. I needed a new rear tire mounted. Quick, professional, inexpensive. I'll take both bikes there from now on.

On another tire note...I also need a new rear on my HD. I looked up the OEM tire on Motorcycle Superstore. $132. Free shipping. I know better than to deal with Thunder Road. Notorious ripoff artists. So I called Robinson HD in Wheatley. I've had good experiences there. Same tire, $425, plus $140 labour, plus taxes. Add an oil change....$720.

This is why I sold (buyer has paid but not picked up yet) my HD. Shameless.

I shared this story with my boss. He had one of his own. He recently bought a Fatboy and took it to Thunder Road for new tires. He has never bought MC tires but figured "they're glorified bicycle tires, how much could they be"?
He came back to an $1175 bill for just the two tires installed. Can you F---ing imagine? But you're trapped by that point.

Anyway, that's story time for today. Vollmer good, HD evil.

Id call Sport Track Gear, they have fantastic prices on tires, as well as Id call Royal Distributing in Guelph. STG deals mainly with sport bikes, but they can get anything normally and far cheaper then I have seen around here. You will need to put on at a shop they are sales only. Royal is cheap too and lots of HD stuff. I got up there often if need be i can pick it up for you. Hope those options help. oh, also try Revzilla.com

I was starting an awareness ride after my bike accident, and found someone else working onthe same project in Windsor. Its an awareness ride to make motorists pay more attention to bikes onthe road. last yeart was the first ride, and everyone wore neon orange shirts saying, CAN YOU SEE ME NOW? this year it will be Black with orange letters saying LOOK TWICE, SAVE A LIFE. and we all meet up at a location and go riding around the area and county etc, in groups to get people to realize we are out there. Everywhere you look that day you will see groups of all sorts of bikes with the same shirts. So people notice this.. Its good for all our safety and its just another reason to hang out, incase we needed another reason :evil
Afterwards we meet at the moose lodge :freaky have a drink and some food. (Drink responsibly ofcourse ) Thats the jist of it. All about making cars look for bikes.

I had an Oddessy battery mounted sideways (posts facing the inside of side cover) in my KLR and I rode that bike in the single track, 08 P2D and anywhere else. NEVER a problem FWIW.

Adiablolex, what are you doing way down south with us?

Vollmer is on Front Road, just before Malden Road if you're heading toward River Canard.

No affiliation to the the place that was in Oldcastle I think. They told me they bought that place's stock when it folded. Same mechanic. He's awesome.

Here is a shameful plug for the guy I use. Normally he has tire sales in the spring and in the fall. When I picked up my bike last week I guy rode in from Barrie to have a set of tires installed.

The only thing I can say is give him a call and see what he can do for. you.

On another note I was down in Windsor over the past couple of days and noticed that the railway tracks have been removed south of the 401.
What are the plans for that trail?
