I think your safe. If your bike is quiet I doubt anyone will make a big deal of it.

Its nice that your inquiring about riding when its -27°C outside. To be honest I haven't even gave it much thought lately. Looking forward to it nonetheless.

I am one motivated rider lol

To be honest i just got my license in early October, and spent much to the fall in the garage basically assembling an old Yamaha xs400 from parts that i bought on Kijiji, so my only riding has been test rides around the block making sure things work, so you can say i got a taste of riding and its all I have been thinking about since then :/

My bike is not a dual sport, or adventure style, its just an old standard so I am really anxious to find out what kind of rider I am. So i am constantly planning some routes to take as soon as i can, and specing gear along the way.

    This winter is all foreplay.

Maybe we can get a group ride sorted out for this mythical trail once spring arrives

Thats way up near Kitchener :/

Looks cool, but I am already coming from an hour on the other side of London.

London is just about the only place i'm gonna look before i turn to ordering online, I am having a tough time actually finding a store that actually stocks multiple brands and styles of boots to try on.. So far the only store in town only offers the entry level Thor boots ...

Take a look at http://aviciouscycle.ca/ and you might want to make the drive. Heck, I'd even drive the 10 minutes to meet you there. Not that I need another excuse to spend time in their showroom... :lol3

You're not gonna find stocked dual sport boots at HG or AVC. From my experience. From charring cross either go over into MI to look or head into gta. Or if you are interested in a set of vendramini there is a spot in amhurstberg

Ok if your going to MEC heres a excuse to go right by AVC on your way to Adventure Guide, awesome store, I love MEC but the London store is a bit small and lacking I thought. Adventure Guide IMO is as good as any full sized MEC store with similar pricing http://advguide.com/ grew from a very small shop years ago to the big time now, great place.

That said, Im not sure how much stock you will find at AVC, but I haven't been there for a while and its now a twisted throttle co.

    Cheers, Todd

I was just in AVC this afternoon and their inventory is rather slim right now. That said, the phone was ringing non-stop and the staff were working hard filling and shipping orders. I'm sure the change in ownership and the bike shows are keeping them busy.

Yeah i would imagine, but its only January - I don't expect many stores have much new stock, not at least until later feb. I would assume whatever is left is old stock. I am hoping i can find a last years stuff on sale before the new stuff comes in. Maybe i'll head up that way if i still need stuff in the spring or if i happen to see a smaller dual sport for sale in that area on Kijiji haha

Have to agree.... you can see and try on what fits then if you want buy there or wait for deals on line... sometimes they (at the show) to make the sale they will drop or match the price if you can show them someplace cheaper.

Sometimes if you go to the show sunday afternoon you might get better deals because that way they don't have to repack it and take it back to the store. (I've never done personally that but have heard deals have been made)
