Drop down a few lines and post up on the Cat herders or the BWDR threads lots of good people close to you. What are you looking for easy gravel roads or single track? AB:-)

Like AB said, check out the Cat Herders & BWDR threads.

There is also a Charlottesville thread and a couple of Lynchburg threads. Inmates are always posting rides. Check out the Richmond thread too. A lot of those FFs get out that way.

There are a couple of Tag-O-Rama games in your area. The T-O-R games are a good way to get to know more ADVers.

Come to a campout. Spring Laurel Fork is a good place to meet a lot of area riders.

You just need to look around the Southeast forum to find lots of stuff going on close to you.

Appreciate the suggestions, gents! I will check into them and, surely, be riding in no time. BTW, in answer to the question about gravel, singletrack, etc. I am a lifelong road rider but haven't been on a "off-road" bike since I was a kid. I mountain bike a fair amount, so I think I may make the transition back to off-road pretty easily. Either way, I'm looking for any kind of adventure, as well as some moto-camaraderie.

    Thanks again for the responses!:thumbup

Not sure if anyone keeps up with firearm industry news, but Remington Arms is opening a facility in Huntsville, AL. I am one of the lucky employees that has an opportunity to pack up everything and move down there.

I was wondering if you guys could fill me in on how much dirt/gravel riding there is within a half hour to an hour out of town?

    All,

I just moved to VA, Fredericksburg area. Is there anywhere to ride at all in VA, anything close to Fburg? I have a plated KTM 450 XC-W and need some good single track, or at least some dual sport trails to fast burn on. Any information that you all can share would be appreciated!!

Hey Riggy, I'm a little south of Charlottesville, VA and have been looking for someone to ride with. I'm a lifelong motorcyclist, but relatively new getting back to off-road riding. I have a KLR650 that I intend to do a section of the TAT on this summer. Anyway, I know that we're not real close, but thought there might be a meeting place in the middle. What do you think?

    Please help...
I'm towing my little KTM FreeRide from South Carolina to Nashville, TN this weekend. Don't have to be there until Monday, and want to fit in a couple days of single track if anyone's knowledgeable of trails between say Greenville, SC and Nashville, TN. Otherwise, I'll have to go back to WindRock all by my little lonesome and laugh at the inverted Jeeps and other such misguided 4-wheelers. We did the LBL200 two weekends ago, so yes, the bike can LEGALLY ride on pavement/gravel, but it gets bored and my arse gets numb from the 2-stroke vibration.
