Jumping geezuz Lee, are you talking a surgical stone removal? I hate to pry, so ignore. You don't have to answer. I had a stone removed surgically when I was about 20. Up through the urethra. A tool. To grab the stone mechanically and then pull it out. They made me drink about 6 gallons of water a day after; if you don't, the urethra scars over and closes permanent. Trouble is, every time you piss, which is every 5 min, because your drinking 6 gallons of water a day, it rips open the channel again. My oh my it hurt. My broken bones and kidney stone passing were nothing compared to what's coming. Fack moi. Ouch.

Had exactly that done but now they put in a plastic Stent. Trust me it's no picnic. The next surgery is to take it out.

I think they just used one of those drain snakes that Roto-Rooter uses, or at least it feels that way.

Well then you can likely understand why I'm not out doing a test ride on my repairs.

Having passed a few stones, one the size of a frozen green pea, I thought I knew what pain was about. I had a revelation with this experience. It can always be worse.

I just changed both of mine on the 950 at 60,000k to try and get ride of a occasional flicker oil light. Its quieter and smoother but still getting the oil light flicker just before it hits 4 bars on the temp gauge! Just going to live with it as i have changed everything I can think off.

Just make sure you don't have wavy pleats on your oil filter. That would mean coolant is present in the oil. That reduces oil pressure causing flicking oil light at low RPM.

I did the water pump over the winter so hopefully that is ok, I might take a quick look to make sure i did the change right! The only thing i haven't changed in the list of suggested repairs is the oil valve/ball bearing thingy coming out of the oil tank.

Lee, just another UHD tube story.

In July I did a little 8,100km, 13 day, border to border run along the CDR and back. Prior to the trip I dropped an UHD tube in the front. Had a catastrophic failure blasting along at 70mph in Wyoming. When I pulled the tire off the UHD tube had split, rolled up in a ball and destroyed my rim strip. The tube was so hot I had to use pliers to remove it as to not burn myself.

I had a spare 21" tube, but no rim strip. I also have a very small roll of electrical tape. I ended up cutting little squares of electrical tape to put over each spoke nipple (not enough tape to do a wrap or two). I got all the nipples done, the standard heavy duty 21" tube and put another hard 5000km on that front. All good! All in the 35C no shade of Wyoming.
