Amazing amount of snow south of the city in sheltered areas.

    IMG_0180.jpg
Difficult, but still I occaisonally find a previously unexplored laneway. A bit slippery this time of year. Damp, leaves and snow makes a slick mix.

    IMG_0186.jpg
    Old favorites still entertain.

Thankful for every riding day at this time of year.

Old man winter creeps in from the West. Like a Predator it sticks to the shadows.

    IMG_0198.jpg
    Early light and cool temperatures.

Powderface trail just at the top of the first real hill. I decided that traction was not good enough to make the decsent.

Here in case you were wondering.

A "leisurely ride" northeast. Thanks Earl.

    IMG_0224.jpg

Canal roads with virtually no water in the adjacent canals.

    IMG_0229.jpg

Leaf covered jems all to myself.

    IMG_0237.jpg

Does a road get better than this?

The shadows get longer and the colors warmer every day. If we could slow the season from its inexorable march to winter it could be glorius!

Thank you Lee for taking the time to create such a fantastic thread. Your pictures showcase what a beautiful part of Canada we live in. As someone just starting to get into AR I am inspired by your images. I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread from start to finish and now see Southern Alberta through a different mind set. I used to be a hard core dirt biker but look forward to starting my own adventures and taking the time to soak in the scenery feeling blessed for where I live.

It is easy to get jaded and take what we have around us for granted. So many places we see as exotic, while others in those places see what we have the same way.

I simply wanted to emphasize the variety and beauty in our own backyard. For dual-sport we have so much to see and can get to in a single day. I hope that I have inspired more riders to look beyond the pavement.

I appreciate the kind words and look forward to seeing what a fellow Adventurer discovers.

When do the permits run out, for those interested. That might make a big difference for somebody interested as there would be a time limit.

TVIP has a brand new 90 day permit for this 365 day cycle. It can be extended as well. Also it has not been to any other south American country yet so a perfectly flesh start for who ever!

They have 90 days in most countries in South America with the possibility of extending.

You might get more attention in the Calgarians that Dual-Sport thread.

Me I'm going Riding tomorrow! I'll worry about Jonesing for warmer weather a bit down the road when it actually is cold.

    Hello Lee from LA
Speaking of when it gets cold...I left Calgary last Monday and the ride through Dillon and Monida was plus 3! But soon warmed to 15 in Nevada and it was 32 when I hit California
    Cheers

With the potential for real wintery weather coming in nex week a few of us set out to enjoy the truly great weather that Saturday presented us. We certainly were not the only ones out and unlike last weekend there were bikes all over. Every rider thinking this may be it for the season. If it was it was a glorious send off!

It was a near perfect day for riding. If it is the last dual sport ride of the season it was a good one.
