Been gone for 5-6 years now I think. The plaza owners cut it down.

Hey, Thanks for the great RR. The photos are really good and the maps are a nice addition for someone to use on a future trip.

    dude!

Due to my "hiatus" I didn't realize you had a RR going with the new machine, good stuff! I've ridden many of those roads on a Ninja 500 while I was "stationed" in Tucson Last year, including Kitt Peak, Ajo, Reddington, and Ruby Road after dark! :eek1:eek1:eek1

I gotta get myself back out there with the KTM, you and I would have a lot of fun! Nothing like AZ in the winter...

Great RR and pictures, I like the one-handed stuff a lot!

    :beer

P.S. How do you like the Garmin 60? I just got one (my first GPS) with the ram mount after HOURS of research here on ADV, thinking of hooking it up similar to yours, but so far I'm not sold on the whole GPS thing, I think I need a lesson on how to use it to it's potential...

Tortilla Flats, the dirt part (the only AZ pic I could come up with quick!):

Funny you should mention that. I am returning to Southern Utah this weekend. Anyone up for some red rock photos again? Keep your eyes peeled for a new report soon... (Tentative Title:dunno , Identity Crisis II, SE Utah and the White Rim Trail:scratch )

Those reports are highly dramatized and the violence is specifically targeted at folks involved in illegal activities. While there are no doubt border issues, the average person isn't getting hassled. So long as you stick to the main roads, camp in designated areas and don't strike out across the desert cross country, you'll not likely have any run-ins and won't likely see anyone except Border Patrol.

I'm revisiting this thread, as I have four days to kill before Thanksgiving and really want to retrace some of this trip. However, I'm on an R1200S now and thus slab-only. I may do what I can and then head east toward Las Cruces.

You can find lots of good slab down there and this is a great time to head south with the cooler temps.
