Surgery was a success. Even checked the CDR routes and all looks to be working well.

    Lance--

Haven't seen a updated blog post in 6 days! Hopefully, you didn't bleed out or get gangrene from the scuba/lava rock mishap.

No but thanks for caring. I just flew into LA. Plan to update tomorrow morning. I worked mostly but did get in a round of golf, a volcano, and the beach. It was good to be back on Chasey... I didn't forget how to ride and my bike was still at the long term parking when I showed up.

I really wanted to go but just too many things going on.

I just got my copy of "The Adventurous Motorcyclist's Guide to Alaska" and I have to say it looks pretty good. It has a lot of insider detail about hotel, gas, food, border crossings, mileage charts with maps, and also nice already planned rides with the particulars. This is going to be really helpful for the ride whenever it takes place....2013 or 2014 most likely. I am really going to have to start saving leave/money up and working some credit hours!

I'm going in 2014. I can now cut about 4 days off of the trip with the head start I'll have :D Let me know if you want my .gpx file.

Lakota recommended the Milepost to me and it helped me plan my entire route. Worth every penny and has a great fold up map inside.

You mind if Dorito and I tag along in 2014? I am considering shipping the bikes to Washington state so I can get more time in Alaska. I will definitely take the .gpx file! Actually I was considering buying a milepost today to go along with my new book.

Maybe 2013 will be the Trans Tiaga or the TLH again, Dana has a lot of interest in the TAT but I really don't. If we did the TAT I would leave the bikes out West and do the Barstow to Vegas ride!!!!!

Absolutely. With the remoteness of some of the roads I have planned, I would much rather ride with a small group.

Just posted last week... I'll have my trip from LA to San Francisco tomorrow... I'm sleepy. 440 miles after a week of driving wore my ass out. it averaged 113 until I got 10miles to the hotel and then dropped to 62 - I was freezing. Caught the end of the 2012 Open when I arrived.

I'm planning on Alaska in 2013... I have 250 employees in the big state and currently working the number with the company bean counters... they won't fund the whole trip but a big chunk of it. I plan to ship my bike to Alaska and fly.

Three weeks total with one with my cousin who has a bed and breakfast in Valdez. Want to catch one of those King Salmon.

So I updated the upcoming events section with some thoughts for 2013 and also the Alaska trip for 2014. Does anyone have any preference for Alaska dates? I am pretty open so whenever the window of opportunity opens I will most likely be good to go. Also if anybody needs stuff added to the calendar please let me know.

Also Morton's is having a RTE this coming Saturday in case anyone is interested....BBQ! I will add it to the events calendar shortly. :D

Although exact dates are not known at this point, I would like to be in Dawson for Dusk 2 Dawson, which I would guess would be around the third weekend in June. That being said, and most unfortunately, my work calendar also gets a vote... :cry
