Sorry, I have just seen your post. I live now in Madrid, if you neen any help, please pm me.

About your route to Porto, I did that two years ago, my advice is that you go throug Gredos. Yoour route could be:

Madrid - El Escorial - Cruz Verde - San Martin de Valdeiglesias - Navarredonda de Gredos - Bejar - Ciudad Rodrigo.

Once in Portugal, I'll let Portuguese mates to set some advice to go north. but do not miss the riverside of the Douro, the road that follows it is amazing.

Have a good trip and keep rubber side down

Hello guys. I am going to be travelling to Barcelona next week, and I was hoping to find some Adv inmates to do a bit of riding with. I don't know if you guys have a "chatter thread", but thought I would post here. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would apreciate it.

    I started a thread Here..

    Thanks for any help.

If you're at a loose end during the days try my friend Nick Lloyds amazing city tours based on Barcelona's history during the Spanish Civil War - well, OK, don't if that doesn't appeal to you!

Meanwhile, I'm based at a camp site in the Pyrenees about three hour away waiting for my HISS trail riding rally to start the following week. So if you can get hold of a bike you'd be welcome - there's cheap hotel accommodation nearby.

    Sorry I can't lend you a bike.

Thank you for the suggestions. I may check out your friend's tour, it looks interesting. As much fun as your rally looks like, I don't think I can fit that kind of a side trip into my schedule. Safe travels! :freaky

No problems, we're expecting stormy weather up here in the Pyrenees this week anyway.

You'll have a great time exploring Barcelona - five days hardly does the city justice!

    Have a great time!

So, do you fancy a ride out?

This was where I was riding today:

I also have BMW X-Country but I'm awaiting a new front tyre - so if the trails, are wet it's the Beta Alp for me :)

If you are back in the Barcelona area I would love to ride that kind of terrain! Part of the rental agreement is that I am not allowed to cross any boarders.

I would also gladly buy you a front tire and lunches for the loaning of a bike. :deal

    Hi Matey,

All this in is Spain - that pass was a 'baby' just 2,000 metres and a long way from crossing the French border! There may be a daily distance limit though - a 'round trip to me would be about 350-400 kms!

The 'high' Pyrenees are still covered in about 3 metres of snow in my area, so the trails up there are right out!

Send me a Pm if you want to ride out my way on roads - they are awesome even for a day trip. Saturday would be a bit difficult but not impossible though.

    Hello again, ah Valencia....

Beautiful place.... good weather, good beaches, good food....

It may be a very good place for a spanish advriders meeting?? I've seen some threads about it but not sure if it has been done before. If not, this fall can be a good opportunity, what do you think guys?

    Regards
