Greetings Gepetin, and thank you for the offer of help - fortunately that can happen over the depths of cyberspace, making "the kindness of strangers" available world-wide.
For seven splendid years I was able to run a BMW R100 RS which was way beyond my understanding, with help from Australia, America etc, though now, when my spirit is wearing out my body like a pair of old shoes, I need lighter machines.
In England my two bikes stand quietly waiting for me to find them a roof here, and since my Honda Accord will need to leave Europe at the end of February, I'm hoping to return with them in a hired van. I just need the kindness of estate agents.
I seldom feel at peace in cities - when driving here, I always go west round Madrid and spend a night in Avila, which nicely breaks up the journey. I recommend the Four Posts Hotel to anyone going that way. However - having a contact in a foreign city is a different matter, making available much I would never find for myself.
I spent an afternoon in Granada, searching an industrial estate the size of Lichtenstein for a cam-belt - but then I suspect even my closest friends would confess that I would be unable to find my own backside with both hands, a map, a compass, and an EEC funded Bottom-Finding scheme. So it goes.

If you find yourself down this way, my home is your home, as I believe the saying goes.

    Saludos,
    Sunbeem.

If I went up to Bubion there would be a chance of seeing snow Kleintone, and I prefer rain which comes downwards, occasionally, rather than sideways, usually, as in northern England.
One of several reasons why I voted (with my feet) to stay in Europe ...

Yes, I was lucky to live between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District - great motorcycling, especially from behind an RS fairing.
In Las Alpujarras, many ride around in their shirts and shorts.

Other than things Dakar related, is there off road racing in Spain, other than MXGP?

    The best public is wikilog.
If you are at Valladolid, you have to move a lot o get away from long straights roads. The closest are Segovia with some sand, but you are at two hours from Northen Portugal, there are plenty of them, and legal.

I'm holding three HISS trail riding this year, one week in the Catalan Pyrenees and two weeks in southern Teruel. The Catalan week - called HISS v1 as it's the original version, which has been going since 2012 - is mid-June and back to back what I call the HISS Challenge - coz the trails are amazing! - the following week. Then the 'Big Tread' aimed at big trailies, in September.

Plus I'm Event Partner for the Horizons Unlimited HUMM navigation event in the Seirras de Gúdar-Javalambre, again Teruel, in October. So plenty of off road fun for all tastes and abilities :clap

I live in Southern Andalucia, just outside Malaga, great place for day tripping, I have also done a few trips in to Portugal and a trip to Morocco.
And the bike season starts Jan 1st and ends Dec 31st :)

    "guiri" :)
It's a great place to live, to ride as well. I just wish it was easier to do off-roading, Spain is a bit too strict when it comes to camping and riding in the "campo".
