Now that is a deep water crossing Cow
I know! I never did either, and he said he's only twice heard of it, the second being heard while telling the story of the first.
Thats kinda what makes rallies so fun, they are like LIVE TV you just never know
holy shit I just emailed the Expression of Interest for the Safari.
Looks like thats an entry.
Oh crap Im in in now
"Good on 'ya" I believe is what the prisoners say.
No water over there (well apart from round Waggawagga at the moment. It's that high to keep it out of the bull dust
I'll be expecting some Ewen McGregor style video of your experiences....
Do we really want that? he was the one who fell off the most.
No, not really, I love the Stagehand video and commentary too much, would be a fun parody tho

Beat the shite out of it!!! 3rd place, pretty awesome!!! Didn't know till the end that it is a para....
That guy is a frickin Giant. He could pick that bike up and carry on his shoulder to a third place finish.
Time to really think stickers:
Maybe we photoshop a kangaroo as the rider?
Also, what do you think are the chances Scotts would be interested in donating a Damper to the cause?
Get a mount and bring yours!
Yep. All you'd need are a pair submount risers for whatever triples rooney has on that thing. You've already got the tower. Do it.
The triples should be WP48/60 stocks... a submount, you say? I'm curious as to which would fit, myself. I'd send my damper down there for him to pre-fit, but if I can talk Scotts into it, so much the better.
im drafting a humorous (I giggled, anyway ) letter to them asking if they'll supply anything anyway, just for grins.
I also thought asking Touratech for padded shorts would be a good idea, as any GS rider worth his salt will always fall back on TT for underpants. or "covering your ass." Whidh line do you like better?
And as a matter of fact, I could use a new camelback, too so I thought maybe I'd hit them up, also.
It may be worth having the damper discussion with Rooney - I know a few people who consider it a band aid to make up for suspension deficiencies elsewhere. Also, in that pic you posted it looks like theres a mounting plate of some sort held in place by the handlebar clamps. I know its an airhead, but you seem rather keen to pull his bike apart!
Haha! Less on the bike is more of course :) Better left alone however paul seems to be all for a damper. He said "send one down and we'll fit it" so he seemed amenable. I dont think its a crutch but even if it is i'll glady take it. It will still be hard to finish. I too saw the mounting plate.
Scotts has said they're not able to provide a full sponsorship, but they are willing to help out if they can, so I should send them a note regarding specifically what I need and they'll see what they can do. I was just happy to get a real phone call back from a human
Trans is still with Anton- it was determined that I should replace the input shaft. (output shaft? shit i'm confused. It needs one of them shafts.) New one on order form Germany, parts in a little while.
MEanwhile: the next three rides of import planned for the ART:
Jimmy Lewis roadbook school in Pahrump, NV beginning of May. Going to need some navigation practice and education. Rental bike, a 400 probably, out there.
Ontario Roaming Rally, Early June. Good chance to get significant miles in a few days. on the R100, barring fixing antyhing else.
and Rally West Virginia, which I am pleased to say that our very own HardwareGirrl has thrown her gloves in for, and we'll be popping her rallye cherry, so to speak.
Couple of local enduros on the 450 and lots of other in-house riding. If anyone is ever in the hudson valley area, stop by and we'll ride around a bit
Thanks for listening. We'll be back after these messages.
PS. I'm with that guy one post after this one.
