Colleen and I just revisited this subject last night with a group of friends. She said that putting the helmet on and being anonymous about gender or age is liberating. She likes it when she rides well and at the destination someone says "oh...a woman..you ride good".......I like it too when it happens to me......man or woman...someone says..."you ride good"........it's nice.
We go to a rally....Colleen won't go to the 'all women' events.....she's a motorcyclist. Some one suggested she went on a "Womens" ride......she said she couldn't think of anything worse than riding with a bunch of women! I think she said "fuck no"

I also like being respected for my skills as a rider, regardless of gender. I'm a female but there should be no discernment between a good male rider and a good female rider. If you are a proficient rider, you should receive respect based on that. Gender should not be a determining factor as it leads to a double standard - and isn't that what we're all fighting to get away from??

It was weird to read this because my name is Colleen and it was pretty much like reading about myself - except that I don't know who you are :D

Colleen rarely posts. She did a ride report ‘tuckers to tdf’ and that’s about it. She’s ridden approx 200,000 miles on BMW’s since 2002. Has 10 grandchildren so a busy life!

I'm doing pretty good, thanks! Pretty much fully recovered, got back on a bike (the little TW) a few weeks ago. Busy with work and grandkids lately.

I just bought one of those for my wife for Christmas. I will try to come back with feedback from her.

I recently saw a post in the WTF thread about public urinals in the Netherlands, showing a woman using one of the urinals. Someone from that country said occasionally women carry a Sheewee so they can use the urinals too. If they are doing that, the Sheewee must be pretty effective without splashing/leaking much.

Dang. I'd feel super-weird using one of those. I like a little more privacy, and a place to wash my hands afterwards. I can't imagine being female and giving one a whirl, special tube or no.

I have one and used it for awhile..... absolutely indispensable in certain situations. Very glad I had it!

Oh, I don't doubt that the gizmo is useful. The open-air urinal concept tells me they have a problem with men peeing on whatever, and that's more than a little disturbing. I know the veneer of civilization is thin, but I'd like to think it isn't transparent.
