I went to a long-track event held at Exhibition Park in Canberra like that.
The riders had amazing gearing, the corner speeds were frightening.

The San Jose Mile had great energy, you could sit all around the corners and actually see what was going on. Howling tires coming in hot sideways.

the one thing i miss about current speedway programs (except for Auburn) is that nobody runs handicap anymore.

It was good, the track had some issues here and there but these guys are pros, they just deal with it. Rained lots but they still got a race in!

Yeah, no practice the day before, rain til 2pm on race day. I'd say the track was pretty good all things considered.

What's neat is to see a gp series where it's not really DOMINATED by one rider, there's been multiple winners and the title chase will mathematically come down to the last round I feel.

Look like janniro won his 8th AMA national championship. He's now level with 8 with Greg Hancock. However, Hancock has 4 world titles, and hasn't raced a national series in the USA in a long time.

    Janniro
    Ruml
    Nicol
    Manzares

Are the top four. Nicol and manzares are eligible to go over to Europe with their top 4 finishes, janniro won't go back, and I don't think max ruml wants to.

I enjoyed the heck out of Billy Hamill and Greg coming up to Auburn to put on a show, spectacular! Despite racing big tracks all year both would fly on the Auburn Bullring. Greg will probably do it again sometime.

I gotta wonder how many years Greg has left in him at world level. in my opinion, hes the greatest ever. at 46 yrs old, to be current world champ, its astonishing in a game as young as most the riders are.

I hope when he retires from world level, he comes over here and runs the circuit for a few years, but that's only me as a "selfish fan." he owes us absolutely nothing after his great career.
