The GS boxer forum seems to be doing all right, and there are lots of models there (1100, 1150, 1200, 1200 LC).

I think the Orange Crush got used to being basically a single-model forum and people are a bit irritated that they need to sort through threads.

Maybe a bit more discipline from posters (instead of a subject line like "Suspension suggestions", what about "Suspension suggestions for 990 Adv") would go a long way in making the forum more readable without any need for splits and anything.

Can we get this thread moved to the basement?? Tired of seeing it and having to click past it. Really annoying. :evil

I vote for this with a small add. It will help out the thumpers section at the same time. Plus, there are a lot of things in common between the Newer EFI thumpers and the larger v-twins in regard to components and tips/tricks related to them.

When I look through the Orange crush thread and kind of tally up the number of separate threads that are specific to engine type.

IE: 950/990 vs 1190/1290 it seems like the sum of the conversations is going to get a bit daunting. Willing to wait and see, but a split based on major engine series make some sense.. The 900 series LC8 and the newer engine have little in common, after all they are nearly 10 years apart in technology.

Wow, I was JUST thinking this because I'm tired of looking for 990 ADV info and wading through a bunch of other stuff.

My other request would be to copy photos out of the mile long 950/990 thread so I can view them in a separate thread without all of chatter. There's some epic pics in there from guys like Geek.

Chuckracer could help by not commenting on things he doesn't know anything about. His recommendations to just put a tube in the rear wheel of an 1190 have worn a few of us out...

    Maybe a Chuckracer Sandbox?

Isn't this the KTM V-Twins forum? I don't find it a mess at all, to be honest.
The Boxer guys seem to get along with a lot more GS models, it's just that the Orange people only had to deal with one model until recently and they're unused to this.

I didn't use to think that a split was necessary. Be patient and it will mellow out.... but now that the 1190's are available in the U.S. it has actually gotten worse. A simple split would work for me.

Wait, is this thread about 1190's or 950/990's? Someone put the bike type in the thread title! I get so tired of not knowing what bike the thread is for! :lol3

I think some merging/thread cleanup is in order. I am a 1190 noob and the redundancy is starting to drive me nuts. Important information is getting buried and not read.

The smart thing to do is just eliminate the 9X0 threads. The bike has run its course and is no longer relevant. Time to put it to rest. Maybe archive it.

the 1190 thread should be combined with the GS thread as that's the bike it was cloned from
