You don't have to worry about passing the Harley's... They pull over every mile or so to tighten all the loose nuts and bolts. :lol3

I used to work with a guy who SWORE a Gold Wing could out-corner a GSX-R 750. :huh

Pretty safe to say -- the talent of the rider is more important than limitations of the bike. :deal

EVERY time. Generalizations and stereotypes make me mad. The Harley guys sound just as dumb when they slam everyone else who's not on an HD. That being said I personally know several guys who are C R A Z Y fast and smooth on a cruiser. Heck, I might be one of them. :evil

KLR's ARE slow, but not necessarily slow in the twisty's :D

On the other hand, every time I've tried to ride a cruiser spiritedly on curvy roads, I ended up dragging hard parts on the ground. Things like floorboards, pipes, and primary covers. So, obviously, those things don't seem to be built with cornering in mind.

Anyway, I did say slow cruiser guys, not all cruiser guys. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.:rofl

Yeah, but remember, any a-hole can go fast in the straights.

Come to think of it, those "punk kids on sport bikes" that day I believe were all older than anyone in our group, and one of them might have been related to someone else we all know....

Speaking of which we (pair of KLRs) headed north on the East side of the lake about a year ago slowed down to check on a gaggle of them south bound but parked consoling one of thier own who had slid across the road into our borrowpit. Probably had something to do with the left over sanding material. No real pain, just bruised ego and paint.

No worries...you didn't. I'm not a cruiser guy anymore anyway seeing as I just watched my HD Road Glide disappear out of my driveway this morning after a guy put a stack of $100 bills in my hand. Truthfully though...I am sorry to see her go in many ways. Say what you will about Harley's but they make a pretty refined product nowadays. That big touring bike surprised me (and then many of my riding buddies) with how well she hustled through the corners. And cruising down the Interstate in comfort...fuhgettaboutit!

Now Harley RIDERS on the other hand are a whole 'nother story. I find they are usually NOT a very refined product!! :lol3

Man, DiamondLie, the bikes in your garage have a quicker turnover rate than the employees at McDonald's!
You must have your insurance agent's "add/remove policy" department on speed dial! :lol3
Is the wife's seat on the GS as comfy as the Harley's was? Or are you fixing that DR up for her? :evil

Depends. I had the Roadie since late 08 and put 26K on the odo in that time. I hang on to the ones I like but have no problem turning them over if they aren't tickling my fancy anymore.

The GSA is no Harley Touring bike for pillion accommodations but I have a Russel Day-Long saddle on it that is pretty amazing. Just bought the ADV aluminum top box (more for her to lean back against than I needed the storage capacity.) She seems to appreciate not feeling like she is going to fall off the back every time I gas it.

    Happy wife, happy life!

Thanks to the motorcycle officer who just waved at me instead of giving me a ticket. I appreciate it.
