Snow? Now the fun begins.
The 6th, I may have mentioned is the Last Chance Fall Dash down at St. Maries at Christmas Hills. Hopefully it doesn't get too wet between now and then otherwise its going to be crappy. I may have to switch to a knobby from the trials tyre.
Race is presented by Stix n Stones racing
Big Bike Event is a tag team race similar to their famous Muddy Butt race.
This race is being sponsored by Red Bull amongst others!
Laps are 12-15 miles this year depending on the final layout. In addition to natural terrain there are multiple EnduroX sections, several steep downhills, and one steep uphill. We're finalizing the course this weekend.
Awesome ride. I would love to have one of those.
ridding this weekend?
Would like to join a ride locally.
I wouldn't mind something local, even if it's raining or whatever. Not sure I want to ride a good distance on the interstate in the misery though. Of course I don't even know what's relatively close.
Welcome to the asylum!
Hopefully you can scrounge up some fun around these parts... Rides safe!
Only to work
Nice place too. Maybe a little cold in Creel
Its still riding!
I'm in for a short ride tomorrow. Sorry Bruce, but I'm just not into a 45+ minute run on the highway just to meet.
Whaddya got, Rick? Any route you'd feel comfortable riding the WR on from here?
I will probably be up in the Wallace area tomorrow (Saturday) on ATV trails with my bosses for a nice tame dirt ride.
So if you see me, wave hi!
Does anyone have an old, beat up 80/100-21 front (knobby) tire to donate to a good cause? I'm thinking of making a set of redneck snow/ice tires for this winter.
I will look around at our shop. I might be able to come up with something.
I have a Pirelli XCMH 80/100-21 with a little bite left and nearly new Shinko 244 2.75-21 (not really a knobby) I have been trying to give away.
I could take the old Pirelli off of your hands! Could I swing by maybe on Sunday? PM me with directions and a day/time that would work for you. No hurry.
Pretty wet out there today.
I rode the KTM from my place and up Canfield. Did 28 miles of offroad and I was soaked by the end of it. Great ride though. Not as slick as I expected it to be, though the back end definitely was dancing around more than usual.
If this wet weather keeps up, I may have to switch it back to a knobby.
Boots are on the boot dryer... gear is in the wash. Going to do it all again tomorrow down at Xmas hills, helping finalize the course for upcoming Last Chance Fall Dash!
Last weekend was the Last Chance Fall Dash presented by Stix n Stones racing.
After a week or so of rain, then several dry days last week, the result was some of the most awesome racing conditions I've ever seen.
Stix n Stones put on a awesome event, coordinating everything really well. Having the designated parking with separate pit areas and such made for a more enjoyable event.
Route was pretty slippery the first lap, had a decent enough start and settled into a good groove. Had a couple of un-scheduled getoffs, but hey, thats racing. One of them I hit a stump dead square then the guy behind me rammed me pretty hard. Could have at least bought me dinner first.

2nd lap went much quicker, only one minor get off. This was a very fast course this year, much faster than the muddy butt course. With it being faster, it was less technical which meant very few, if any bottle necks.
The enduroX section we built midway through the course was a fun little thing to throw into the mix.
