I have had good experiences with Dave Russell. Guys up here drive an extra hour to go to Dave Russesll instead of the closest dealership.

Took a day off to relax from the holiday (lol), anyway sunshine and the CRF250X calling my name... and off I went. Until December 1 you can ride the Smoothing Iron (gates are still open) so that was my route... up on top of the game land it got muddy... but the Kendas did not fail me and kept the bike upright... snow at about 5800 feet of elevation and kept pushing thru until getting to the top, and left hand turn back to Wenatchee Guard Station, rode the VERY MUDDY:clap Back Road, down Campbell Grade and on home...

    My best "snow bike" imitation...

While I cannot speak for their sales force or after sales service, my brother was in town back in July on his ZX14R and the service department was awesome! I called them a day before he got here and ordered a couple tires for him. They got the tires in the next day and installed them and washed his bike too. He got to talking to the service manager who did a special 'veteran discount' for my brother! As he says, 'All those years in the Marines is finally paying off!' LOL Anyway, they did a great job in a timely fashion at a great price. A LOT more than the Kawasaki dealer would do. They wanted a $150 more for the same tires and 3 days to get them. Ridiculous! Hope this helps ya Renegade!

Not too bad until the Sun started going down....

My hands were a little chilly initially until I realized the grip heaters weren't on...Doh! After that it felt great to get out... One last time...

That sounds about right. CDA Powersports is a reputable dealer. Their sales department is VERY sticky on price. I had to make several offers to them when I bought my 2014 DL1000 from them. That started to get annoying. At one point I even said, hey guys, I'm trying to buy a bike here, you gonna work with me or not? I've since purchased two more Suzukis and they stuck on their prices. I even gave them the opportunity to price match the other dealers that negotiated with me. Nope. So I bought the last two from different dealers. Scored some really good deals even after long distance purchases (Boise and Auburn, WA) factored in.

But, I still have CDA Powersports service my Suzuki's for stuff I can't do, like valves, etc. Kevin Dean is the Service Manager there and is just outstanding. He really cares about you and your bike. The parts department will price match verified online tire prices for you.

I just kind of shrug my shoulders when I bring my bikes in for service and see the sales guys that didn't get the sale. If sticking to their price is a business model that works for them, great. Other dealers often make great deals - it's all about inventory and timing...

Anyways, I suggest buying the bike with the best price and then take it for service where it makes sense for you. I live in Hayden, and CDA dealer drives me home and picks me back up for services, no charge. That's handy!

    No experience with Russell.

    Good luck!

Man, that's awesome service! I've actually heard a lot of good things about their parts and service depts. I've bought quite a bit out of the parts dept, and comparing prices they have been pretty darned good. On KTM bikes, I'm seeing some good prices in the NW-Portland in particular. Buddy just bought a 690R over that way. I'm hoping I can sell my Rocket outright (no one wants to give a reasonable trade) then ride the XC over and trade it, ride the KTM back. Russell is only $500 more than they are though.

Yeah.. I was had CDA in mind also for a new dirtbike. But if they dont budge in price, I would condider driving further. They must sell all their inventory. There was no 2017 left overs.

I saw bad reviews on Dave Russel. And I did stop by on my lunch hour on a Tuesday. Door was closed during their supposed working hour.

I hope to get other folks experiences.

Is the Venture Royale yours? If so, nice bike! Wish Ida bought one back in the day.

I bought my 1290R at dave Russell's, small shop, no b.s., have always been good to me, had some work done to my old 990, had no issues, it was done properly. Warranty work done on my cousin bike, even though he didn't buy it there. We figured out the problem here, I called and talked to matt, he ordered the new part without even seeing the defective one until we picked up the new one. so far they treated me very well.

How do you like your 1290 R? Dave Russell quoted an OTD (less tax) price of $15,999 on one. I stopped in the day after Thanksgiving, Dave was the only one there. We chatted for about an hour and a half. Liked the guy.

Want to add a Rocket III to your fleet??? :)

I have a lot of experience with cda power sports. I have bought 5 bikes from them and I have never gotten a good deal from them. I tried to buy a 1290r from them twice. The first time is when the 1290r first hit the dealers they had 4 of them they called me and said my bike was ready I was trading in my 1190r and my Yamaha 450. So I rode my 1190r and my wife hauled my 450 75 miles up there only to find out the fuel pump failed on the 1290r I was buying 3 out of the 4 they had wouldn't run !!! They could care less that that happened mike the owner was standing around the whole time this was going on didn't say a word to me. So I told them they can keep bike. Two months later I got the 1290r itch again called me they said they had one left made a deal over the phone at full price and they wouldn't even wave the dealers fees so I said I would be up Saturday to get it. The next day they called and said the key fob quit working on it won't start. They told me it would take 2 months to get a new key fob !!!!! I again told them to keep the bike. That 1290r they have is the same one that had the key fob failure. So two months ago I traded in my 1190r and my 300 for a new 18 300 xc. Now I'm looking for a 1090r or a 1290r this spring. As far a Dave Russell goes I like him but he won't give you much at all if you are trading a bike in. I think my next bike will be used or I will travel to Seattle or Oregon to get a better deal.

keep in mind the value of the trade in means nothing... if you are comparing prices you want to know is the difference... how much $$$ + the trade.... they can inflate the price of the bike you are buying and give more for the trade in... or they can discount the price of the bike and give less for the trade in...

Anyone ever tried KTM in Orfino, Idaho? I would stay there for the weekend and catch some steelhead.. Kill 2 birds in 1 trip. Its beautiful there.

Buying a dirt bike, all I really care about is availability and price.
