I'm keen for the music box AJ :strum if you can fit it in. Good low down sound is good, doesn't have to be raging all the time, but good to have when you want it.

Sounds like you guys are way organised when you get to take the mighty ole bus.

Likewise with my choice of ride, I think i'll even throw in my charcoal grill & BBQ some rubbed chicken breasts to accompany some other fixin's you guys might have.

I'll take some foil too, in case any fish are jumpin our way. :freaky :clap

It's a haul from Central Washington to Central Oregon.
But the weather's looking maybe a bit better this year....
Or maybe the same, we'll see.
Either way, we'll either enjoy your company, or miss your presence :cry

I just got back from a 700 mile warm up ride and did some recon in the area. Dirt looks good, not too wet, and the snow is not that low. Water levels are up a lot higher than they were a few weeks ago.

You guys couldn't have planned the weather any better. A few scattered showers the next couple of days to keep the dust down and then warm and sunny all weekend! Cold enough at night to have a big fire, but not teeth chattering by any means.

    From NOAA Prineville forecast:

Thursday A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 61. Light and variable wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph

Friday A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind.

Friday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 66.

Saturday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 31.

Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.

Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 31.

Update: After talking with some via PM and via BendDualSport.com, I plan on first going to the campground; and then go for a Millican trail ride from there--8.5 miles on pavement from the CG to east end of Millican. S1, you're welcome to come toss the GS around some bermed corners. :D

Probably leave home fairly early in the morning (advantages of being retired . . . :clap), slab it south, and ride the Columbia River Scenic Hwy before heading south on on 197, or something like that . . .

Even though I grew up in eastern Oregon, I've never ridden Hwy 30 through the Gorge. Might be a nice day to fix that situation.

I'll dump the GS luggage at the campground; would enjoy seeing some of the backroads in the desert over the weekend--another place I've not spent enough time!

    Looking forward to meeting y'all.

Dumped the bike last weekend, still healing and work is conspiring against me...again.

OK, either Friday or Saturday I am going to try and do a ride out to Paulina Lake Hot Springs @43.719,-121.209 and Newberry crator. No idea if snow will be an issue, if it is I will just re-plan, re-route on the fly. Will probably head back to the campground via china Hat rd (NF-18) via Bend.

then I'll go and break my legs at Millican (but I want t wash my harris first).

It's like 6k elevation up there, so don't count on it...
I saw the lakes for the first time on my way back from doing parts of OBDR Route 3 & 2 last year.
Camped right on the edge of the water just past the Group Camping area that was unused on that weekday. It was AWESOME !!

I'll catch your fish for you, this year, Scott. Glad you are basically OK, sorry it still hurts.
We will have "medicine" on-site, ya know...

I would not plan on getting to the hot springs. The gate is still closed at ten mile and snow beyond that. We are still snowmobiling up there.

MadChap, I'll be there tomorrow evening, and up for some exploring to the south east on Friday if anyone's interested. I've zero local knowledge, but usually manage to stay reasonable "found" with a decent map . . . well, sometimes . . . :eek1
