I have ridden over in that area during the winter and early spring many times but have never made it to one of the group rides on this forum and would like to make it to this one. I usually ride out of Millican Plateau in the winter and spring when East Fort rock has too much snow and finally made it over to the Crooked River Canyon this past year and wow. Very nice!

Yes, I agree with pigpen. Loads of fun, fishing, hiking, shooting targets and other fun activities for your enjoyment. There may even be a spare bunk in some of the RVs. I'll be looking for a warm dry place to sleep. This will be my third Spring Break and hope for many more.

Pretty good advice, PP, and exactly how we all feel.
This group (the WHOLE ADV group) provides some of the best times many of us have had in a long time, and we just wanna share it. With everybody :clap
We're gonna hafta take over all NINE Crooked River campgrounds if we keep this up :clap
It is a spectacular canyon!! The first time I had ever been here was 4 years ago when Oremike first suggested it. And well...I was sold :norton

I don't think I'll be there this year, a bike for me is still a ways off but I plan on being back as soon as I can.

This whole thing is your damned fault, ya know...You're allowed to be a "pickup adventurer". You've been grandfathered in.

You do some of these things, dontcha?.....

Yes, Scott, upon closer inspection, we DO look cold!
To be fair, it is breakfast we're eating, so it's still early.

Lol, for me going to a motorcycle event without a motorcycle is like going to a titty bar and not going inside, and having my friends come out and tell me all about it. At least from here I can look at the pictures.:D

Out of context quote of the day.
If you bring your fishing pole, you'll think about 'em less.

    Hey
I would like to purchase maps before I show up for spring brake.

Could you guys and gals recommend some specific maps and where to purchase them?

Oregon Benchmark or a DeLorme Oregon atlas & gazetteer cover it as good as it gets. Most big stores carry them. I needed one badly once in NV and found a DeLorme in the Fernley Wallmart.

The Ochoco National Forest map covers this area well, with road numbers where the big Atlases offer only a small red line on the more minor forest roads. Since the Ochoco Forest has a large Northern section and a smaller Southern section, the overlap between covers this area well. Traditionally, though, many of the Ochoco Forest roads will be covered in snow still in March/April. However, there are still LOTS of non-forest roads of all types still ridable all around camp.

Glad you'll make it, Jungle Man :clap

Righty65 and I rode last Sunday near Corvallis. We mostly missed the frosty roads and found some sun near Philomath.

Yes, bring that motorhome so I can sleep warm... or else the cold tent for me.

    NO SNOW!

I mean,,like,,NO SNOW!,,there should be a good 8" of frozen misery out there now! Makes for the best jackrabbit huntin' there ever was!,,no snow,,suckage,,no snow,,fires,,no snow,,low stream levels,,but that makes for hungry fishies,,no snow,,low reservoir levels,,no snow,,not good for Orygun.
I blame it on the HAARP array!
