Just another one of my solo camping trips/rides in the desert to document. Here is the lip of the Owyhee River canyon before I got to my camping spot Friday night. I left Homedale, ID at 6:05 after stopping for a sandwich. Three hours later I am almost to my camping spot for the night. Now I have a two mile descent in fading light to get to my riverside camping spot. I was on this road 18 years ago in my pickup, so it's not real familiar to me. Made it with no drama. I was amazed that I had driven my pickup down this road years ago. Much quicker and smoother on the DR. The view Saturday morning through the mesh of the tent. I unzipped the door for this pic. See if you can spot my friendly neighbor in this pic. Packed up and ready to go. 80° forecast for today. The view upriver. My plan was to wade/swim across the river and check out a hot springs on that side of the river. But the river was still running a little too swift and deep for me to try. Just a good excuse to come back later for another try. The hot springs is down there. I was camped down there. To be continued..... EDIT: This is why I know it was 18 years ago.
