    Sorry. My bad.
    Busch Wildlife Area.
These bunkers were part of the war effort and housed explosives.
Right at the beginning of a closed section of road this one sits.

I should have specified more clearly. I think there are three bunkers right before the closed road, and I believe this is the second of them. If anyone hasn't ridden out there, it's kind of a nice gravel ride in the Bush Wildlife area. I believe there are about 32 lakes in the area and can be nice just to wonder around.

Well damn, it would be like me to screw this up and get the wrong bunker.
So in the spirit of the game and integrity, I suggest a video replay.

If wrong, I will try next Tuesday to get the correct one, but I still think this is it:

    compTag.jpg

The markings on the door looks like a match. (you might need to enlarge a bit) The discoloration and rust in upper left corner look similar.
The green graffiti seen off the baggage rack on the right is a little clearer on the left, since the leaves have fallen
The black discoloration above the door and along the upper limit seems right on.
The trees to the right of the door have the same branch pattern,
The telephone pole has same knots, and black junction box mounted on the right side.
The cement ring about the pole on the ground is more easily seen on the left, but can be faintly seen off the front wheel on the right but hidden in foliage.
    I think this matches.

I had to literally drive around the place with Mike's Photo on in my Cell Phone, to help me zero in. I rode past this one a few times, before I realized that the door could be opened.

Mike is right, it is a nice place to ride around. Just use discretion, try and avoid the busy weekends, and hunting season in general. I always seem to get a stink eye from someone when there.
Best time is Mondays through Wednesdays, the worse the weather, the better; and no hunting going on. You might have the place to yourself.

    Take care.

I knew it was there, I live real close to bush. I'm not sure they have hunting, lots of hiking and fishing .

I avoid Defiance on the weekends, motorcycle traffic jam around those 2 bars and Sat. and Sun. afternoon you've got the wine tasters headed home then it starts getting dark and the deer come out.

    Smart man.
Best days around here are mid week, early in the day.
Weekends I stay away, unless weather is nasty.

I think you got the photo, good job finding it. It looks like we have a few O'fallon / Defiance folks on the board. We should get a ride together sometime.

Grab the Modoc Ferry. Did not go into St Gen for the theatre[IMG]

New tag. From South to West on the compass. Easy access to some great touring roads.

Yeah well I got the ferry last week but the tag I wanted to drop, the road sign marking it was stolen. The tag I was going to drop is all about the road name, cool road, cooler name. So I didn't come up with any good drops yet.
BTW Linda and I went across that bridge when we followed that "major river" south cris-crossing it for a couple days last month.
