I always carry my little cell device,,I just never turn it on.:D
    who ya gonna call?:huh
I lived a fair bit so far without being connected 24/7,, I still write letters just to keep the postal workers employed.
i pads, and such,, too much monthly money, too much attention required, too much a frikken distraction,,i'm going for a ride. I'll take my $9.99 tracfone along with me,,but you can't call me even if you do have the secret number cuz the danged thing ain't turnt on. good night.
I prefer notes wrapped around arrows, (flaming arrows if you really want to get your point across!),,and shot over the castle walls, or something along the lines of pony express, but with dirt bikes, not horsemeat,,and a lot slower,,so ,,forget the express attitude.:lol3
Carrier Buzzards! they can pack a load!
    Uhh, and another thing!
    Your bunghole, Motoplaner,,,!!

    You know what to do!
    See to it!,
    Woodford's,,I will if you will!
    ,Like I like!

Well Since this event is fairly close I took it upon myself to check out the park situation at Vincent. It was a pretty day for it, the little cub's new motor is breaking in well and made a quick trip of the nearly 100 miles round trip.

    Going up Smith river road..

The Smith river is running pretty cold, high, and semi-clear right now.

..really pretty tiny beach along the way

And I arrive at Vincent creek park. But as MonkeyButt man sez, it's locked up..

oddly enough Smith River Falls park, ( which was the alternative?...) is also locked up ..:cry

So..I'm not sure where you all are planning this little get-together. I'd like to do a run up for this.

Fawn Creek park is open but it's neither as nice nor sunliit as either of the two other ones.. Kinda Bummer...

In the spirit of "He who hath smelt it, hath verily dealt it" I sugges OMB ranch as the alternate.

No host, nothing provided, he and Shelly and Willy won't even be there, or will they...?

I'd offer my place but the riding and fire pits suck in south Eugene.

I'm up for an alley sweeper, st. pat's day ride is no bueno for me though (dad duty) and chip seal may have another option for the rest of the adv'ers to enjoy?

Sweeper recon day? After work or most Fridays work for me, been wanting to have a local version for a while now. I've been finding the fun stuff between friendly neighborhood and downtown, and there out westerly (10th alley is goooood) plus there's a few good ones between 30th and campus.

I rode a few longer stretches of downtown Spfld alleys,,back and forth.
14th headed south,,turn west in the alley between C and D,, and the next block up has issues, skip to the next alley,,muddy and narrow,,just right,,almost all the way downtown.
Some go a long ways east and west, but I am finding that a lot of them have crap thrown over the fence in piles, and good clear access is sketchy,,Oh,,and,,
watch out for tire punctures due to discarded tweeker needles,,:lol3:freaky

    Great pictures, Yama Geek.

I called BLM re the two parks Tuesday. As indicated earlier, both are gated until week before Memorial Day.

Did you notice how wide the junction of Vincent Creek and Smith R Road is at the junction? Lots of parking for bikes! LOL
    Still on as set up.

You are correct as for the reason for the gate. I did ask if I could open the gate for you'se all but was told no. FYI those parks may not open at all until a budget gets passed.

There are plenty of "back door" routes to make getting here interesting. I haven't been through there in a while but if you find Alsea Falls you can come through the back of Hult's Mill and end up at the park. I'm thinking of a more traditional approach of the three wheeled type myself.
