Started to get into my clutch...

    Wow .. This is uncharted waters for me & my mate ... Day one was only a few hours of work time ... Went some what well.. It is a real learning curve...
    I love it... Blew the clutch in this Valk. at 122k ... I had another one to ride so it wasn't a oh my gosh I have to fix it NOW... Worked on a few other Valks. during the winter... Now it was time to start my favorite valk..
    This is the one I'm taking to AK this year....
    The damper plate went kaput ... That's what the little eyelet rivets are... Will know if the basket is bad ... Sometime today.... As I'm not a fast worker... We only work a few hours at a time ... With farm chores and life.. And of course ADV bbs........

    The Clutch on this Beast is underneath...
    Yeah yeah it's not a DS... But I do use it like one .....:poser :ricky :thumb

    Well today was another few hours of work...
    A bunch of photos...
    The little eyelet rivets , might have done some damage...
    Some scoring to the Basket and to the center clutch...

    Don made a really cool thingy to press the plates together .. So we could get the spring ring clip out and off...

    I sorted the photos out I hope it worked...
    the new pix are on page 2-4 ....
    Wow this is a great learning processes...

    Might not work on it ~ till a few more parts are in and a tool that is needed... Oh boy more cool tools :clap

    Well an update... After thinking long n hard... Ordered the Clutch basket & the Inner clutch... OH MY Gosh .. $$$ But with the damage that was done ... I think it will be a good idea in the long run to do it right...
    I'll keep ya posted :deal

    Well picked up the outer basket and the inner clutch yesterday...
    Wow they look so much thicker when new ..:lol3

    Did get to ride the other bike to get the parts for the other bike...
    Thank goodness have another bike to ride while working on one...
    It really helps... Motos are our life...

    I'll keep ya posted on how the work is coming along...
    This is my first clutch work... So I'm some what excited about doing the work... As I am with all my work on the bikes...
    I was one of them who gave it to the shops to fix ... The last 3 yrs Have been doing most of my own work along with my mate...:thumb

    Ok here is an Update.....:clap :ricky

    Today started with ... Get TheBeast ready for state inspection...
    I knew the intakes need to be changed (little O rings) So did that..WAPITA!!
    Put the 08 tag on the plate...

    Lets back up.... It had been 10 months since it cough it up...
    Work started on it in Feb... So it has been up on ramps for 6 months...

    Note it is off the ramps..
    Had a full tank of fuel in it (treated w/staybil & Seafoam..) And the petcock off.And No battery in it..
    Put a new Battery in it... And of course new oil and filter..
    I was a little worried about starting it .As I kept hearing horror stories..
    LOL... So I asked my honey to crank it for the first time ....
    Ok yes I can be a chicken .. Hahahaha

    He gave it a crank or two then few twists And it Roared to LIFE!!!
    I took it down the driveway once...That was the night before..

    Now for the rest of the day... Well took it for the SI. It ran Great!
    All the gears smooth.. Man did it feel good to ride it...

    OK it was better then good... It was friggin fantastic!!!!!
    After that ..It was now time to let it stretch it's legs and breath ..
    We went for a 100 mile romp !! It's sweet !!! And as I say it's all about the test ride!!
    Dang I just love this bike!!! And yes a little more then TheBlack !!!

    Todays ride confirmed it !! It's like and old favorite moccasin... It just fits ME !!

    Came back from the ride.. And gave it a nice sudsy bath and a nice wax.. Heck even did the chrome on it...

    Did I say WOW !!! To bad can put up the videos... I'll have to see if I can make them smaller...
    I was really excited last night !!
