I am having my tank painted on my 86 R80G/S.It has the Dunkel Blue tank.Does any one know of a source for original style stickers or paint codes for the colors to have them painted on?It has the pinkish and light blue sticker.
BMW lists some stickers available on the microfiche. There are about 10 choices, some available, some NLA.It does not describe what colors they are and I have not researched if the ones I need are available. They run about $50 a piece.
Just looking for other possible choices.
    Thanks-Sean

For the G/S tank I had purchased a set of reproduction stickers, which were crap. I think they came from Israel. They were two pieces per side and a little smaller than the originals. Think about the decals being in two pieces and what that would look like over time. Decal would separate between the two colors and expose the paint underneath.

If you had the outline of the originals you could take it to s sign shop and have some made. They can get CLOSE TO THE COLOR. I had some made for a R100GS tank.

To much angle between the colors. The tank is long since gone, sold to a guy in CA I believe.

As one less Harley says a lot of the reproduction stickers are the wrong size. I bought a set of stickers for a Paris Dakar from the guy in Ravens link - they were a country mile a way from the originals.

One of the local guys had his tank sprayed instead of using stickers. I'm sure he said he'd used the Motorsport colours. Light blue would be Light Blue (paint Code 114) and Marakesh Red (code 222). I would check though. To be honest I didn't look quite right having the panels sprayed - too glitzy and shiny. I struggled to get a match on the light blue when I was looking for some a couple of months ago.

The decal "red" is more like a coral color.

Just rang him up. it was a white tank with the two tone blues that he had sprayed because the originals are no longer available. His blue one had genuine stickers bought from BMW. No help at all to you I'm afraid.

Siebenrock in Germany has them. The are about $42.00 each. I order from them at least twice a month. Send me a PM if you want me to add them to one of our orders.
