So sorry to hear about this Bikehigh.

She must not be a very good diver to begin with. Sounds like she probably almost
hit the truck in front of you too if she was that far into the intersection !

    Idiot drivers ! :becca

Makes my blood boil just thinking about it !

Just glad you are up and about already after that.

Good thing you don't remember much about it.
That way you won't be playing it over and over in your head !
Been there, done that ! :D

    Thank God you are OK.

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys. I'd put a bit over 32,000 miles on the bike in the two years I had it, and it was running better than ever. Finally got it broken in.

This is why I ride as far as possible to the left when the car in front is turning right and someone in oncoming traffic is waiting to turn left. It makes me visible to the left turner much earlier.

I do the same. I try to be very much situationally aware, and constantly try to do the best I can to both see and be seen. In this case it didn't help. Thanks for trying to teach a lesson though. Much appreciated. :puke1

It's a good thing you know how to fly. Now you just have to learn some mad wheelie skills!:evil
May your next ride be designed with out SUV injection.......... seems to shorten ride time, and overall bike length:D Any thoughts on the replacement steed?

Thinking it'll be something in the 800 cc range, like the Tiger 800 or F800GS, but bikes like the F800R and Hyperstrada are also on the radar. I'm certainly open to suggestion too.

Looks somewhat familiar. Glad you're still walking the Earth. Don't worry about the groin thing, I did the same thing. I was walking around with a "bag" of plums in my shorts for about a week or so. Looked awful, but worked fine :evil.

The way I look at it, if you've lasted this long chances are this ain't the way you'll go out. I had a good friend of mine slip in the shower last month. He knocked himself unconscious and died by choking on his tongue. If it's not the big things, it'll be the little things that wil get you when you're unprepared.
