They are buckwheat cakes.
No shit Sherlock. I'm a Mountaineer.
Then you know better.
Dem sausage patties tho...
NEWS FLASH FROM HORSESHOE...
i should probably tell everyone about our 3-bike group ride that had two, count 'em, two road captains. then they got lost, lost each other...and lost me. i was the only one who knew where the heck he was, so when Scotty found me, then JimBob found us, we got back on track, only after i broke up the argument, hey it was gettin' late.
that's the truthful rendition of actual events, any comments to follow by the road captains are complete and utter lies.
anyway, had a great time, even though i had to reset the tuner switch on the bike to "freakin' slow" just so the other guys could keep up, i didn't want to embarrass anyone by riding at too fast a pace, wouldn't have been fair, the dust back there was brutal...i could hardly see those guys in my mirrors.
in other news, our very own arsonist apprentice, JimBob, demonstrated how easy it is to start campfires utilizing paper plates and a blow torch. then he burned up the entire neighborhood, all downed wood, all our wood, all Bill's wood, and all the wood from the next camp over. y'all want campfires, invite your arsonist, they're a special breed, just ask WJ.
Friday night was a kinda dull, peaceful, and may i add, sober evening around the campfire...that's the story i'm stickin' with, please don't make me swear to it, a big-ass bolt of lightning might strike in my vicinity.
we get to do it again in a week, we're lucky SOB's.
camped at 17 again, same place we were a couple weeks ago. a collection of different bikes to run the roads...
including Bill's pristine '82 500, it's a runner, and Bill can wheel it too.
16 and 17 have the anchors from the old bridge which i originally thought was a foot bridge, but one of the riders from next door said it was a much more substantial bridge used for logging activity back in the day. Horseshoe closed for the season after this weekend.
my two road captains re-united after some earlier misadventure, i think it was one of them kiss-and-make-up type deals.
new day, and JimBob is pointing across the valley while talking with Bill..."I think that's our road over yonder."
some great riding in the area, a little different flavor from my usual riding area farther south. i had been on some of these same roads back when they were gravel, now paved. trees on the higher elevations had mostly dropped their leaves, a fact that totally freaked the ScottyP man, they were like grass clippings covering the road in spots.
good times, thanks again for the tour Jimmy.
I think I've seen that 500 before.
We thought these guys were ADV turned out just a cool group hanging out. Nice Beemers!
Huck did 12 mile road with street tires and finished it. He spent the rest of the day complaining about it.
Proof that Wayne ain't the only guy that can build a fire.
Yea, but Scotty had his fire fluffer.
He's only a pro blow if you pay him... nice pics dudes. I got some stuff put away and sorted that needed sorting... well, sorta.
Huck at High point
I guess I gotta lead you guys around for a weekend.
Anyone have any problems with going around an illegal gate on a county road?
Negative, I'll be home this weekend.
Glad you had a good time. Yes, I noticed the cagers too. They drive fast and don't care
Good stuff- all of you folks need to come to the Highland County Maple Festival next March 2nd and 3rd weekend. Some of the best buckwheat pancakes on the planet made with a sour dough starter..... YUM-OOOOOOO. You guys made me buy a used DR 650 and now riding with JimBob up on the mountains. It's all your fault!!!
IQ demonstration for sure...... 1 or less maybe
