street legal dirt bikes in BC

    hi i was wondering if anyone knows the steps to make a dirt bike street legal in BC.the bike is a wr 426 2001.

    My brother insured his old IT 425 with just a head light and tail light, "I think" he had to do a small modification so he had a brake light, as for signals he used his arms.

    Unfortunately you are about 2 years to late, that loop hole has been closed by the beareaucrats. The only way now is to buy one that was licensed before the law changed.

    And even then if the bike is ever ordered to be inspected, most likely to be: Adios Plate!

    looks like it will be either a drz400 or a wr250.thanks for the replies i had heard it was hard to make the conversion but i keep seing wr400-426-450's on craigslist with plates so i thought i would ask.

    Yup. I know of a guy that lost the plate on his XR650R. Too bad, so sad.

    Beta makes a great bike. It's a dual sport that is great in the dirt. Nice on the road too with the 6 spd tranny. I rode a DRZ 400 for a few years, but the Beta is ten times the bike the DRZ was.
