Like the title says, Need a tire and a 525 chain with at least 116 links. We are on the bottom of the trip and the budget! I need a good used chain(I know, I know!) and a 150/70-17 tire. All parts will be going on an 08 DL650. Looking for a Shinko 705-type tire. If some one had a good used set of sprockets and chain for a good price, I'd be interested in that too.

Trying to get back to Colorado on a very tight budget. Thanks in advance!

I grew up in Klamath Falls,,took me better'n 18 years to escape!
you might start walking now,,so you'll be outa-there by winter!
    trust me on this one!

there are bike shops, ask about take-offs,,, and some ADV family in the area,,just be patient,,KFalls moves slowly,,relax,,go look at the hotties in the Dutch Brothers coffee kiosks,,one downtown, and one out south sixth street,, see which one has the cutest babes,,pour the coffee on the ground,,that stuff won't fix yer tire!
If you are downtown,,try the Beta dealer/airhead service guy,,on Spring street.
there is another shop just off the 39 bypass at Shasta way,,or near there,,maybe?

The dealership Peterman mentioned is Tread and Track 3500 Eberlein Avenue. (541) 880-5577.

Give James Mathlin a call at Uncaged Motorsports - (541) 363-6764 he should get you set up. If he can't, he probably has the connections to get you squared away.

Or give the folks at Action Motorsports a call - (541) 884-8644. Kerry there replaced some bad valves in one of my bikes for less than the cost of a valve check at most dealerships.

There is also a guy worth calling at 541-891-1050 who runs a repair shop on Summers Lane. I haven't done business directly with him though.

I've used Tread and Track with very good results. They are a Suzuki dealership.

Go to Gino's on East Main and get a breakfast burrito - it'll change your life:deal

Later, go to Wubba's BBQ on South 6th. You'll waddle out with a smile on yer face and a stain on yer shirt.

Neither of these places existed when I lived there 30 years ago, but I have since discovered their magic. Fuck the tire and chain, you may never find one in this town. The food however, is worth being stranded for a day or two. :clap

I gotta say Wubbas was good, about 10 years ago. Now, not so much. I'll still eat there because, hell, it's Klamath Falls, what ya gonna do?

when I grew up there,,there were no bad restaurants,,the Blue Ox, the Chuck Wagon, The Char House, the one at the airport,,eat a great meal, watch the planes come and go,,the old Jerry's Drive in was fabulous, and the Dog House made the best burgers in the world,,after Morrie's in Bellingham, Wa.
In those days of old, there was one Mexi restront on East Main,,that was it!
Wong's, and the Eagle cafe, the old Ponderosa Room,,Klamath has always had good food,,and why not? They grow the best potatoes in the world in Malin, Merril, and beef is everywhere just walking around,,meat and potatoes,,wtf else do you need besides beer?:1drink

Based on my fuzzy, 29 year old memory of the place, wasn't there some old used motorcycle and bicycle repair place, they had a bunch of really old Triumphs, Beezers and other weird Brit and European relics in various stages of disassembly out their back door. The place seemed like it was out of the Old West. Like some kind of Red Dog Saloon for used motorcycles. It was east of the rail tracks, close to where Main st. dipped under them? Seemed like that place existed in a time warp.

I sort of expect places like that have always been there and always will, not that this will help any.

I bleev yer thinking of Bodenhamer's Saw shop. It was on East Main, across from Mills skool.
They had triumph and bsa, ajs, and lots of others.
When I was a kid,,oh about 1962 or '63, it was where all the 'big boys' went for parts and to connect for rides and such. It was a scene from the older days, for sure,,creaky wood floor, stuff hanging from the ceiling everywhere,,and BIKES!,,shiny new bikes!
I remember we were hanging out there one morning, when the chef from the Pelican Hotel rode in on the first 2 smoke Yamaha to hit KFalls,,ring-da-ding-ding,,and clouds of smoke!
    jap bike!
We all thought they'd never make it in America.:eek1
