While at speed on a four lane highway I accidentally bumped the shade that came with my previously owned Nav V, dislodged it, and down the road it went. Quickly pulled over, parked, walked back but only found one piece of it.

On the plus side, there are good people near Cambridge, OH; one guy pulled over while traveling the opposite direction, crossed the highway via an emergency turn around and stopped to see if everything was ok. Another lady went past us, pulled over and backed up to check on us.

The one I had was hard plastic that snapped on. Other than being easy to knock off it worked well. Any recos for another one? And can anyone confirm that a Nav V uses the same "box" as a Zumo 550?

Have used this same hood on everything from Zumo 550 to progression from BMW Nav IV to V to VI.

Found a roll of matching velcro at Walmart,so have plenty of material for any future use,or moving GPS out of Nav cradle and swapping between vehicles.
Mine is 7-8 yrs old, still going strong.

    Highly recommended:thumb

I just made my own. Some sheet metal cut out the shape I wanted, used a dremel tool to smooth out and painted with a can of undercoat paint. Bend it on a vice. Use super lock or dual lock Velcro. Works like a charm. Probably cost 7.00 or less and a little time

I had a shapeways one for a little while. Took it off as I couldn't see the gps when standing on the pegs on dirt.
I haven't missed it at all really.
