First, congratulations on the new bike!

Second, with a bike that sexy it is never going to thaw.

Third, that is one sweet sweet ride.

Fourth, I cannot believe that you rode a such a beautiful scoot in such crappy conditions.

Fifth, that is an awesome motorbike.

    Congratulations.

You know what that bike needs?

    Not a fuckin' thing.

Cold and windy, no where near as much snow as durango though. We got and inch or so last night. Honestly, i've really been wussing out on riding, waiting for it to heat up a little bit. The slick stuff doesnt bother me as much as me nutz freezing to the seat.:vardy

Wtf with this weather. It is like that movie Groundhog Day. Everyday the snow is still there. I like to ski but fuck an a thaw already. I don't know how those poor bastard in northern latitudes do it. I'm going to start looking for work in Silver City.

Accept my apology in advance for those of you that poured bleach in their eyes after viewing my previous post.

One night stay at the Embassy Suites = $$$$

Hanging out in the “cold pool” with my five kids all the while whishing I was in the hot tub = 8.4 years off my life expectancy

The obligatory visit to Grandma’s house = pain and suffering

Two and a half hours of desert riding in 52 degree weather while Farmington was colder than a well digger’s ass = priceless.

I tried to get something together for Saturday in Albuquerque on the “NM Trip - this weekend (NM'ers feedback please)” thread to no avail. So I had to head out on my own. DirtDad had given me directions to the Southern riding area and I thought I would give it a go. The plan was just to go out, poke around, and try not to get stuck/broken out in the middle of nowhere.

For those who have never been the Southern area is a kind of a big dune on top of a mesa. While I probably didn’t find the Albuquerque rider’s sweet desert stash I had a great time. I rode a whooped up double track west and then caught a bit of single track back. On the way back to the duney apex of the area to reorient myself I helped a noob quad rider dig his quad out of the sand only to watch him get stuck in the exact same place 15 seconds later. I got to dig him out again. At the top of the dune and reoriented I started to head south on a whooped bit of double track. It was pretty sandy so I was pretending to be a really slow, fat, and untalented Cyril Despres (but sponsored by a company that makes enduro bikes) when I stumbled on this bit o’ trail sexiness.

As you can see from the photon the ridge top trail winds down to a slot canyon.

    Pretty fun stuff.

I would like to get back down and have someone who knows the area show me around.
