It would take hours to cross post the build blog to ADV. If you're interested in the finer details of the project then follow the link. There is good explanation on how I aligned the shafts of the gearbox and engine which is critical and took some effort working out the technique. Theres also photos of an engine seizure and rebuild.

If anyone is wondering it does about 90mpg (uk) and has a top speed of about 60mph and cruses nicely at 55mph.

Thanks Mouse, another inmate sent me the link last night and I stayed up late reading it and watching the vids. You are an amazing talent! And you get it done for pennies.

    Good luck and keep building.

Pennies don't rust or leak oil, so he must be using something else. Either way, it's a unique piece of art!

Wow, Mouse, what a great idea on the SSOD, glad to see you found a way to bring her back to the living.
Love the idea, your tow bike is magnificent, the barrel was absolutely perfect for the "Rat Bike" look and should work quite well and have plenty of room for odds and ends and Molly.(good to see her again!)
Thanks so much once again for posting the current situation on the car, always good to hear from you as usual....looking forward to the "rest of the story"....:D

    Hi Mouse,

I discovered this thread yesterday, and got hooked, it's like one of those old Epic films, like maybe "How The West Was Won" etc etc, they went on for bleeding hours and hours, and ya sat there and watched the whole damned thing...............coz they were brilliant proper films.
Well, this was a proper story, you should write a book man, I mean, there was the original discovery, prompting endless theorys and speculation.
There were "Hecklers" and subversive atempts at snatching the "Prize", with bloody saterlite pictures no less!!!! And at the end (the part when ya bum is so numb ya have to wriggle from cheek to cheek to get some feeling back), the Hero won the day, absolutley Gripping, thanks :D

And my thanks to everybody, it was a great read.

(I've also read the diesel bike saga as well, more of the same)

Thanks Mouse, and Happy Xmas to you:clap:clap:clap:clap

Fantatic! The barrel/bodywork should have a hatch, so if it ends up in a river again, it will float. Super cool to see things moving along, in a decidedly confusing and disturbing direction.
    Cheers!

Gee Now what in the hell.....

SSOD = Mouse, AKA Mouse Diesel Rat Bike from Suckin Diesel.

Either I suck at math and never put two and two together correctly... or I have early onset of Oldztimers disease and knew it once but then forgot.

Great to see it rolling. Now to really cap it off (pardon the Pun) but Get a few more barrels for plastic material and cut and splice it up as needed to build a front bullet cap:deal for the SSOD to bring it visually back closer to what it once was. That would be an AWSOME respectfull step back toward its glory days

I would def. not tell you how it ends... it's rather anti-climactic anyway, but keep plowing through it. It's a real gem that just kinda... well, just keep reading.
