After nearly hitting a rider who I didn't see coming out of the sun(set), I realized "Loud pipes save lives". I only stopped because I heard his engine.

So, for those with e-cycles, should be DIY a speaker with Harley sounds, and wired with an on-off switch, for sunset/sunrise?

That's for audio. What about visibility that is "beyond the pale"?

the engine of a rider, who is coming towards you, must be really goddamn LOUD, for you to hear it from that far away, that you can still do something to avoid a collision? And usually the noisiest place near a vehicle, is directly behind it, so I wonder if those following this rider, will actually damage their hearing?

I enjoy things that defy science, physics, and acoustics. His pipes were likely installed backwards! :imaposer

Loud pipes are annoying, reinforce stereotypes, give non riders an excuse to discriminate and limit out right to ride. In some cases they even break the law.

My preferred solution: a couple of strips of black electrical tape on the bottom of the visor so with visor raised you can block the sun. I know some people who prefer doing the same thing with the tape on top of the visor but the sun is normally only that strong for a short period and I found the refractions from anything less than a perfectly clean visor a problem.
