This thread makes me feel better about having paid $8700 US for an 07 with 9000 miles on it. At the time I thought I paid too much for it, but like it has been said by many if you want one you just pay the price. I thought about selling it, but see that is not a good idea at all.
Anyway hope that adds some more perspective on the current value of these bikes.

The SE is not for everyone, but for those it was built for, price is secondary. I've had three and will always have at least one, according to book values and many others I paid too much for all three, whereas I feel I stole each one of them every time I fire them up pushing the little fun button bringing them to life and making me feel 20 yrs younger every time I twist the throttle. I guess it's like that "it's a jeep thing" saying, I guess it's a "SE thing" and for me and many other SE owners I've been around we don't give a crap what others think about the bike or what they think how much we paid. The SE moves the soul...period.

I paid $8500 for an '07 back in 2012. 4500 miles, pristine, akra's, canisterecomy, etc. Well sorted. First ride, I dumped it going about 40mph. I got up, dusted myself off, picked up the bike and haven't stopped laughing since. The bike is pure hooligan on any surface. You won't regret it once you ride it. And make no mistake, if you bought it for $9k, you'd drop another 2-3K on farkles without hesitation. Value is what it's worth to you.

i own two SEs. i'm not objectionable to a third; especially such a low mileage one. where is this pristine beauty? :evil

if i collect more bikes it'll keep me from doing something like buying that new Dodge Challenger Hellcat. :D

In Australia they sold for around $21,000 ride away. I got mine for $19,500 and a few weeks later they dropped the price by $2,000 to get rid of them. So all you blokes in the U.S. that think you paid too much. You didn't, we did.

I hope he bought it , I paid just shy of Aus $ 18,000 in January 2009 for a mint 2007 model with 7000 km on it , it now has just under 50,000km on it and still gives me wood every time I twist the throttle on any surface :evil . I then had to fork out for the big tank and Bash plate to bring it up to my needed equipment level , which was another $1500 Aus .

Under priced at any price , is my belief .

    That's what happened to me.
I spent too long thinking about it. By the time I had finally made up my mind I had missed my chance.
But as luck would have it, a better deal came along and I made a deposit instantly.

Now "Super Tiger" lives in my garage with two other happy 950 Adventures.

YOU EFFED UP!!! The best off-road bike ever built was local to you and for sale

Ok, sorry. I'm gonna go talk to a shrink now

I called the guy as soon as I saw it on CL. He told me that someone was supposed to be on their way the next day to look at it and he would call me back if they didn't buy it. I told him I could be there in an hour with cash! He said he had already promised it to first caller. So I just missed it by a few minutes!!!

Same thing happened to me when I was looking for one a few years ago. Missed a couple of them by minutes.
When I finally was the first caller on one 500 miles away, I was happy the seller was true to his word as he had many other calls, some even offering more money.

An available SE you look at today usually ends up being gone tomorrow...

it seems like there's a glut of used SE's on the market currently. prices seem to reflect that but the "cheap" ones are going quickly I would guess. I know of two for sale (one officially, one kinda) in georgia. but we aren't a big area for SE's. love mine and another friend bought one after riding mine, but it's not like it's big open spaces like out west. I enjoy mine on single track though. :)
