    They re-valved KTM 640 last year and I'm happy with the setup and wanted to continue to use the same or very similar fork oil.

    Yes, like Chuckracer said Maxima Racing 5wt fork oil. When it's time to service the forks I'm going to try Motorex 2.5wt fork oil. The viscosity is similar and it has a better viscosity index (200 vs. 150), and it's available locally.

    My table shows:
    Maxima Racing 5wt to have a reported VI (Viscosity Index) of 150 with a actual VI of 98.

    Redline 5wt has a reported VI of 407 with an actual VI of 409.

    Unfortunately Motorex 2.5wt isn't shown.

    For those wondering, Viscosity Index (VI) is how stable the viscosity is over a wide temperature range. Bigger numbers are better. It doesn't just mean hot-day vs. cold day, it means begining of race vs. end.

    Not as big a factor when we are talking about forks. VI is more important with shock oil since it heats up much more. That is why most mfgs have separate oils for the two.

    I use Maxima 5wt fork oil for my hydraulic clutch fluid. Works great & doesn't seem to fill & dirty with metal from the system like the Mineral/Magura/Motorex oils do. They're too thin-filmed to hold up to plunger-type system seals and wear the bore
