How many choices are there to mount a high front fender on a KL250 Super Sherpa?

OEM Kawasaki from a different model?
    KTM?
    Acerbis?

Source links are greatly appreciated. :thumb

Thanks for the offer, 1-2, but you have a color which would stick out like a whore in church on either of my KL's. :lol3

I'll check Kawasaki for cost of an OEM for KLR250 front fender though, and thanks for the offer. :thumb

There is a "military" version for sale on ebay for a 650 which, I believe, will fit on the Sherpa. A bit pricey,...

    KLR 650 Military Fender
But, some say this is too long and has to be trimmed to keep air flow to the motor. Plenty of debate on that topic,...
Others have ordered '03+ high fenders from Canadian dealers where the Sherpas are still sold (and available in black, if you want).
A good group with a lot of information is:

    Sherpa Yahoo group.

Quote from site: "Cycle World, out of the east end of Toronto (416-291-9858). The 2005 high black fender part number is 35004-1396-6C and it lists for $109.87 CAD."

    Hope this helps,
    John

I put one from a KLR on Linzis. Bolted right up no probs. I think it was about 80 bucks or so.

No picture of Linzi's. Seems she didn't pay her smugmug bill :lol3 I'll steal one of Julie's from Arch's site instead :hide

If I were to do it again I think I would look at getting a Canadian one. Tell Vardy to go to Goodtimes Center and get a price on one for you.

I think it looks nicer than the KLR one. Not sure if it comes in green or not.

I could go with silver or black, as either color would match on both of mine.

AD, where are you getting yours for $30.00? Izzat used? :ear

    I'm assuming Julie's is a KLR250 version?

I'm too f'n lazy to go to that kind of effort. And knowing the half assed job I'd do, it would peel the first time I tried to wash it.

It looks like 1-2 won the auction for the green one. Didja buy it for me, sweetie? :lol3

I have two, one used weekly as a trainer, and one as a back up (really for my pleasure, but that's another story).

I'll get another one if I find it for the right price. :nod Mucho better than my DR200.

    Krautbikeman,

Not a problemo. The Super Sherpa and the KLR250 share the same forks and triple tree part numbers. The KLR250 has a high-mounted fender, the Super Sherpa a low-mounted fender.

I found out this weekend that a KLR650 front fender will bolt right up to the KLR250, so that also means that the Acerbis KTM replacement fender SHOULD also mount up.

No, I have not tried this yet, might just go out and give it a while if you're really interested in giving your Sherpa an 'attitude' with a KTM looking front fender!

The price? Not bad. If you go to .....
    http://www.acerbis.com/p995_KTM/replica_KTM.html
and choose 'FNDR' as the product, '2004' as the year, 'SX' as the model and '250' as the size it will show you a part number for a fender that will bolt up to a KLR650 - no modification!

The price is listed as $24.95 and that includes shipping! It is available in black or silver.

Let me know and I'll do a check to make sure it will fit prior to you ordering it.

The search button lead me to this thread a bit late. :thumb

Can anybody confirm or deny that the KTM fender above fits on a Sherpa?

    With a little work ....
See the pictures below ... I bought my Sherpa used and it came with an Acerbis KTM High front fender ... probably the one that Prairie Dog listed in post #17 of this thread.

    maybe available ...
