My front brakes started making this really loud musical note between about 10 and 25 mph and it seemed to be coming from the front brake. So I got new pads from the Suz dealer and a .pdf version of the repair manual for 2000 DR650 bikes. Seemed pretty easy until a little stainless clippy-thingy popped out and now I can't see where it goes back!:eek1

It looked like it came out of the bottom area of the caliper, near where the pin goes through the holes in the pad backings. After standing on my head for about 30 minutes and not seeing anything I feel like tossing it in the weeds...but I know that would be a very bad thing to do indeed!:evil If you have access to the DR650 shop manual that seems to be all over the web, on the exploded diagram (page 118 on mine) of the front brake (Chassis 5-6) it is the little thing just above bolt F. Of course the manual says nothing about where it goes or how to get it back in.

Please...can anyone help me with this? Thanks soooo much!

Same here but what is its purpose? Is it snug when you put it back right?
