Which of course why I need you as a pathfinder. I get lost at the end of the street.
Don't rely on me, I'll be doing more u-turns than a ConDem coalition:eek1
Love the exchange--just don't mention the war !
I've asked Charles to confirm that its the municipal site at Clupeau--Auberge de la Card--by the river, north of the D704---my sat nav is just a map and a compass (and a pair of reading glasses--an age thing)!
See you all sunday , hoping all goes to plan.
I will post a weather forecast nearer the time.
I'm hoping to get local maps and get them marked up on sunday evening
Sunday /Thursday /Friday camping please Magnon
Sorry about the late reply I haven't been keeping up with all the posts
Charles, is this the campsite?
It doesn't quite match your co-ords but it looks the likeliest one.
Their map shows a camping symbol in the centre of town but your co-ords are at this red cross (I think).
The camping on Sunday and Thursday (and Friday for some) is at Camping Clupeau which is on the river as per Gazz's map above. The full decimal GPS co-ords are N45.30017, E001.13143. Just say your with the Fleming group. Dinner is at the Auberge de la Card on the campsite at 12 a person for a 4 course menu, probably around 7.30 - hope everyone will be there.
I did a long day out yesterday (350km on a KTM seat) to check some of the day 3 tracks. Unfortunately the GPS started playing up in the afternoon but there are a few minor changes.
Is anyone taking a stove for morning coffee ?
I'm only camping on Sunday night but yes can't do without my morning cuppa.
Find this one is quite reliable
yes, for morning coffe and for some "pasta"
Yes, Strobingred is - we are taking mugs...
Bike's reday to go, just need to load the luggage and pack clothing tomorrow evening ready for departure Friday evening after work - see you on Sunday.
Thanks Iker, I like pasta also, just make sure the stove and pot are both large enough.....
No problem Possu , just carry your fork with you :dg
[Unfortunately , still awaiting parts for bike..Just hoping they turn up early next week ,before france jaunt]
Has Basil, his bike ready for the trip?
see you all, on sunday
Yep..........another cooker here , gotta have a brew in the morning
For anyone still around on the Friday, MuddyMatt and myself will be doing one of the days from the 2009 trip.
Seeing as we will have no weight on the bikes, we will do the hardest day from before. It was the one on which we visited Dave's barn. Here's a few pics:-
Ahhhh..... that pictures show Jonnybgood crushing his gonads on the XR's fuel tank! :eek1
That was a great day, the enduro course catching all but Wombat out...... yeah right!
The weather report is telling me that beer o'clock maybe slightly earlier on Monday.......
And I believe it is the Champions League final on Saturday evening, so that will kill a little time on the ferry......
Everything is looking good this end. I can't wait....
see you all Sunday evening.
As an aside a greek fellow , Dimitri , wants another set of tank guards for his LC4 adventure (trashed the first set)--but sent this youtube video of trail riding--is this what SW France will be like?
Just called Brittany Ferries, the boat gets in at 21.30 and loads from 21.45.
That's just about when the game ends and Rooney will be having his tantrum.
So me and Matt will be in the Ship & Castle (same pub as last time) from 19.30 to watch the game as they will be showing it:-
