Nope I was gone to Arkansas. The riding was fantastic down there this weekend.
No crashes or flats and picture perfect fall colors!
Well, I wished I could have been there!
KC was fun! My good friends daughter was getting married, so he foot the bills all weekend!
My 9 year old daughter thought it was cool being a Jr Bridesmaid and my wife had a excuse for a new dress!

Well if nobody went to the run, maybe we can get the map an do it as a SW ADV ride!

Charlie and a few guys went for a nice ride saturday, they got lost!
We took 39 & 21 to Clarksville on the street bike, then went north on 123 & 7 back. The colors were still pretty good.
My son and I took a couple of our best riding buddies on a route he and I had ridden a few weeks before. Started off with breakfast in Republic, then down to Hurley, basically crossing back and forth over Flat Creek as much as possible, and then on to Cassville. From Cassville we rode in to Roaring River on the old Roaring River Road from the north, and then on down to Sugar Camp road and Butler Hollow down to 187, and eventually on in to Eureka Springs on 23. Fantastic ride and perfect temperature for dualsporting. It was a little dusty, but not near like it was this summer. There were some fantastic views along the way, and we were surprised at how much color there still was on the trees.
As usual when we're in Eureka, we dropped by the Arkansas Adventure Rider and shopped for a while, and BS'd with a few other ADV types who were out doing the same. We got home a little before dark, and my wife asked jokingly "was it the best day ever"? Got to say if it wasn't, it was pretty damn close.
I've got the route saved. If anyone wants the file, I'll post it up.
Yeah Dean came down and a couple other guys also. Devaro came up and was our guide. We rode over SE of Jasper.
Rusty, I think the idea of a ride on Eldorado's route sounds great. I had other plans or I would have gone. If you can, PM me. I'd like to ask you about other routes, but I didn't want to detour the thread.
I rode the route on Saturday. It was a nice ride. I usually ride south of Granby into Arkansas, but it was a nice change. I am fairly certain the arrows are down now. I was riding with some other guys, and didn't really pay attention if we were keeping to the route, but it seemed like we did. Also, didn't measure these distances out on my high dollar DR 650 odometer.
Here's what the route sheet said...I can post a pic if necessary but the sheet was literally just the following:
0.3........East on Airport Drive (just north of Eldo Cycle)
4.8........Intersection (Caution stop, no stop sign) you are coming off a hill and it comes up quick
5.9........Road...hard right onto 801
6.9........Left onto 450
8.2........Hard Left 925
10.3......Right HWY 39
11.2......striaght 300 across HWY 39 to dirt
17.........Left HWY 39
19.6......Straight HWY N
28.5.......Right HWY W
33.1.......Left HWY J
36.3.......Left HWY 54
42.1.......Right HWY K
44.1.......Left Dirt SW 778
45.2.......Left SW 301
46.4.......Right SW 401
48..........Left SW 650
49.5.......Left sw 477
52.2.......Right SW 900
54.5.......Right HWY 39
only going 1/4 mile back to dirt Left Turn on 50
Yep know that route, I live on airport drive, I go that way to camplinger mills and cut back through the 900 road that is a fun ride.
I'm working on a new loop from el dorado to springfield on the east side of 13 than coming back on the west side. Goal is to do as many gravel roads as I can! :$
Not that anybody cares but I will be sending out some possible dates, for those you might care! Lol!
Hey Rusty, hope you don't mind. I added you and a few others on here to my Twitter acct. I've been talking to a couple of other guys about a pre-Thanksgiving day ride. I've gotta work the entire weekend after T day, but could get off the 19th - 22nd. Keep me updated on that Spfld to Eldo route. I might just come up for some of that world famous BBQ! :dg
Ahhh..like seeing that you guys are in the process of building a SWMO Network using twitter..I think you will find it very useful! We sure do down here!
Ok, I will be going to pick my daughter up at my Dad's Saturday and I have about 3 to 4 hours of ride time in the Joplin area Saturday.
Anybody want to show me around the area? :)
