I have previously owned two motorcycle specific GPS units that didn't last 3 years. At 600 plus bucks a pop this is frustrating and unacceptable. I am considering this mount kit for my $69 Garmin. I use a GPS almost exclusively as an electronic map. I plug in my destination and follow the routing. I don't need a ton of features.

Have any of you tried this? Do you see any potential pitfalls for street only riding?
