I asked for a copy for Christmas...I hope Santa delivers...
Sorry for the delay, still doing a couple of finishing touches to it.....
Thanks for the patience and interest
During the process of writing the Dakar book, Angelo (Brodovitch here on adv) and I enjoyed the experience so much we decided to make a series of publications. Why is the big question I suppose. To enjoy a hobby and produce a product we both wish existed; I guess this would be the answer. We have no false illusions of making a living from this, in fact I sincerely believe this is the reason there are no publications dedicated to offroad rally racing. It is a small niche group of people who enjoy the sport, whether that be as a competitor or as a fan.
Our goal is to put together a print publication once a year or as material is available. Volume 1 (Dakar 2012) is now for sale from our new website www.TFTB.org
Neither Angelo nor myself are web designers....we're learning as we go and hope to add content to the web site over the coming months, years, etc
We have been working hard on the second volume in the Tales From The Bivouac series...which we aim to have available in December....
We sincerely appreciate everyone's interest and patience. The writing, producing, website, editing, etc has been a bit of a personnel learning curve for myself and one I am quite enjoying.
Thanks for the support
Yeah, go easy on us
Like Ted said, the website is a work in progress with much to be added, but at least it's up and you can order Volume 1.
I would also like to add a big thanks for the support!
I love how this place brings people together and urges them to explore new things - be it that route around Kazakhstan, rebuilding an old bike, entering a rally or starting a publication.
Oh, and thanks for the RallyRaidio link, I guess I need to wake up Nate to clean it up a bit.
Bought Volume 1, I'm looking forward to this and volume 2 when it's out....
Desperate to order but cannot click on the publications link to order?
If you go to Publications -> Volume 1
there should be red link in the last sentence of the description (the one with the bold letters) which wil take you to the Magcloud page
hope that helps
Im kind of partial to Volume 2 ... just sayin
Now to get some of those books sold!
BTW Ted, thanks !
Thanks, managed to sign in to something called magcloud and find the book but still cannot buy it :huh Cannot click on it or anthing unless it is my stupid computer :eek1
Certainly sounds like it's your computer.....I tried from a few (Mac, pc, iPad, etc) and they all seem to work....
click on the cover, that should take you to the next page where you should see a dark blue button on the right of the cover with the words "Buy In Print, $50.55"
No need to log in anywhere
okay cheers, will try again
I cannot access the page to buy the book either. On the www.tftb.org website, the About Us link works; but the Publications link does not work. It does not change to a different page. I'm using a standard PC and IE.
It's worth noting that the printing company (Magcloud) is doing a fall special so the TFTB book is %25 off until October 31st.
