During the process of writing the Dakar book, Angelo (Brodovitch here on adv) and I enjoyed the experience so much we decided to make a series of publications. Why is the big question I suppose. To enjoy a hobby and produce a product we both wish existed; I guess this would be the answer. We have no false illusions of making a living from this, in fact I sincerely believe this is the reason there are no publications dedicated to offroad rally racing. It is a small niche group of people who enjoy the sport, whether that be as a competitor or as a fan.

Our goal is to put together a print publication once a year or as material is available. Volume 1 (Dakar 2012) is now for sale from our new website www.TFTB.org

Neither Angelo nor myself are web designers....we're learning as we go and hope to add content to the web site over the coming months, years, etc :D

We have been working hard on the second volume in the Tales From The Bivouac series...which we aim to have available in December....

We sincerely appreciate everyone's interest and patience. The writing, producing, website, editing, etc has been a bit of a personnel learning curve for myself and one I am quite enjoying.

    Thanks for the support
    Ted

Yeah, go easy on us :D

Like Ted said, the website is a work in progress with much to be added, but at least it's up and you can order Volume 1.

I would also like to add a big thanks for the support!

    Awesome!
I love how this place brings people together and urges them to explore new things - be it that route around Kazakhstan, rebuilding an old bike, entering a rally or starting a publication.

Oh, and thanks for the RallyRaidio link, I guess I need to wake up Nate to clean it up a bit. :lol3

click on the cover, that should take you to the next page where you should see a dark blue button on the right of the cover with the words "Buy In Print, $50.55"

No need to log in anywhere

I cannot access the page to buy the book either. On the www.tftb.org website, the About Us link works; but the Publications link does not work. It does not change to a different page. I'm using a standard PC and IE.

It's worth noting that the printing company (Magcloud) is doing a fall special so the TFTB book is %25 off until October 31st.

Are you hitting "VOLUME 1: DAKAR 2012" on the drop down menu that appears when you hover over the PUBLICATIONS button?

Sorry, I am on a mac with no IE at the moment, but I'm pretty sure we tested it for all browsers :huh

here is the direct link to magcloud:

Sorry for the confusion...a drop down menu should appear with two choices (volume 1 & 2).

The web hosting company was having issues today (just our luck). Perhaps try again?
