Hey guys, long time since I have been here. I sold the Bandit for all the right reasons, I guess but still sucks sometimes.

Anyway, the reason I am posting is I recently met a guy who runs a charity that sends requested books to Servicemen worldwide for free. The guy has a three car garage crammed full of books, probably 20,000, at least. What I do is help him sell books that aren't that high up on the most wanted list but are sellable enough on Amazon to turn a profit, which helps pay the guy's postage, which is around 300 per month.

The guy gets these books donated and recently got a ton of National Geographic magazines, going back to the 1930's. That's cool but they take up a lot of room and are not highly sought after by Servicemen. Nor is a huge lot of magazines going to sell on Amazon and postage on such a large group of mags will be exorbitant.

So it hit me, this is a pretty diverse group of people, who know a huge amount of people. So if anyone knows anyone that would be interested in a huge lot of National Geographics for an extremely low price (for a damn good cause) please let me know. We are not looking for collector prices or anything like that but just a price that can help pay the monthly postage bill. If anyone is interested, I'll make sure to get a lot more information on number of books, price, etc.

Thanks for reading, and if anyone has a Bandit they don't want, let me know. I'll tell the wife it followed me home....

Scott, speaking as a State-level library drone: the Natl Geo stuff you have is already digitized, and most libraries already have hardcopies of them too.

You can contact Strozier lib at FSU but i'll bet they'll just accept the stuff as donations, as we do. And superfluous donations get sold to a used book wholesaler for pennies per title

Hey Buzz, doing good, oldest child graduated from Lincoln, heading to USF in a bit on full scholarship. Doing my best to introduce the younger kids to roller coasters, superheros and mini bikes.

Thanks for the info Mug, that's more or less what I figured. This was sort of a lark to see if anyone out there might have a use for the magazines.

    Thanks again!

Great read. Took some discipline to get through it the first time. At first I thought I was scammed, then realized I read a gem.

    greatest. book. ever.

I remember one of my college professors asked me about certain parts of the book; like, what were "points" and such. I never felt so smart in my life. :D
