My requirements are different than scotts, I need them for a cot not a tarp pole.
what a fun site, I may end up making a small fun tent for my son and this is perfect. The near .5" stuff looks pretty good choice for the poles. Not to spendy either.
So I was waling through the offices, and found a disgarded tripod sign holder.
steel pipe with shock cords, about 4" too long for whay I want but with a cutter then could work pretty good.
Going to take it home and hack the &^%* out of it and see what happens.....pics to follow!
The cool thing is they have this plastic hook that adjusts in heightto hold a sign board, could be useful for hanging a jacket from or misc crap.....again pics to follow.......
The cheapo scot at work!
So I took the sign holder home, cut the tripod center mount off.
Then pulled the legs apart to get to the shock cord and cut one end.
Pulled the cord out and trimmed all the pipes to 18.5 inches the exact inside lip of the jesse's.
Fed the shock cord backthough duct taped to a bit o string to feed the last bit through. Clamped the end again and presto.
2 x 3 pipe pieces with shock cord and 2 seperate pipes that can be used to make one end really high or make the two sets 1 pole higher.
Took about 9 dremel cut off blades to finish it off I could not find my hack saw.
length with no additional poles inserted
with one additional pole
details of the pole hook
and it all fits nicely in a tripod bag I have.
Next I have to try setting it up, I need a couple of rubber ends so it won't damage the tarp and I may go with a rubber insert that I can put a bolt through so I can use the grommet holes on the tarp too.
Search "short section tarp basha pole" on YouTube.
i have an original set of bubo poles but i cant seem to find them for sale online anywhere... these are made the same way and you can get them any setup length AND pack length you like
The ESVO link posted is broken.
Here is a working link to ESVO https://www.esvocampingshop.com/en/tent-accessories/tent-poles/telescopic-nesting-poles/
Has anyone found any other nesting sectional poles available in the US?
