Starting your solo TAT Trip from Deals Gap on July 30 and planning on getting my home in N. CA around Aug 14ish on a WR250R. Packing light with minimal one-man camping gear. I am assuming the bulk of my travels with be warm to hot so my clothing are light with MC boots, knee pads, compression suite and light clothes. For rain I will use Frog Togs. I will bring fleece for cooler conditions.

Question... should I bring cold weather gear for the passes? I have a one piece Aerostitch but that will take up a lot of space for a trip that is overwhelming hot. What the wisdom of the ADV Community think?

I think you will run into cold weather in the mountains, especially when it rains. I have found that my rubberized rain suit jacket provides lots of extra warmth even when it isn't raining. So it provides double duty.

I think I would bring that and maybe a lightweight thermal sweatshirt.

I've done it once coast to coast and again from Colorado to
Port Orford. Also, I'm in Cotati. If you'd like why don't you
PM and I'll give you my phone number and can fill you in
    with lots of info.

Also, if you plan on doing that distance in two weeks you're going
to have to be real moving and long hours in the saddle, but it's doable.

Have done both routes, GPS Kevin's and Sam's old route through Nevada.
Anyway, if you'd like more info let me know.
